I hate it.

I think it takes some of the advantage away from the sides who earn the week off by finishing top 4 and winning week 1 and that's exactly what everyone strives for all year, top 4, win, week off.

Also, Mrs Boon thinks it's a great weekend to do some gardening.

The average bloke could scab in well this week and set himself up for the final run home.

Sacrifice Friday night with a movie perhaps, Saturday afternoon at the shopping centre followed by a dinner, Sunday in the garden as the whole time the better half isn't even aware of the bye round.

Clock up enough frequent-flyers for 3 hours per night heading into the big day.

I'm shagged as the step-son has a concert on GF day and his gig is around 6 or 7pm and then the missus wants to drive straight to Mildura after that, I think she's half expecting now that one of us isn't going to do either, I just haven't delivered the news officially.

Collingwood will be happy there is a week off otherwise they would have 2 Perth trips in the space of 7 days.

I hate the break in footy, and am hanging out for the finals, but that aside I actually like the idea of the week off.

Reckon the Top 4 have a enough reward for their finishing position, and I like to see all participating clubs given that little extra time to get as many players available as possible.

If Kennedy and Darling are up and about, don't think Collingwood have any defenders left to match them. An ex basketball player who has played a handful of games will be standing one of them, good luck!

They were ordinary against Dockers, and although they keep surprising me this year, I think this is easiest game of first week of finals to pick.
Agree, WCE present the worst match up for us

Kennedy hasnt played for 4 or 5 weeks. He may be underdone and we can take advantage.

Stop supply to their forwards and dont kick it to McGovern and we are a huge chance.

We won in 2016 against the master tactician. Our post bye record is shit, but the finals bye is only two years in and we are 50-50, as is this week's match.

I like the bye weekend, needed a fix of footy so gave the missus her first ever viewing of the 2007 Grand Final.
Probably the 119th time I've seen it though.
Disappointing end as we were 128 points up at one stage.

Was thinking i really dont think Richmond have been the dominant team that the media and everyone else makes them out to be, sure they may still win the premiership but if you compare them to pretty much every premier in the AFL era they come up well short in the interstate wins category. The 3 great sides of the modern era have all won interstate consistently and against good teams. It may not mean much if they dont travel interstate but to me it says they are not quite at the level of the very best.
'The fact they havent won interstate against even average teams this year suggests they are vulnerable.
Id love to see us knock them off and put them on a Perth prelim final path. It might be the only way we get a good grand final this year because if it runs to plan Rich v WCE at the G may not be terribly entertaining, Having said that you watch us win and then bloody Collingwood will upset the Eagles and Richmond still wont have to travel
Best case scenario for the Hawks to have a crack at a flag is a Hawks and Pies win this week putting us into a prelim against most likely WCE at the G
