Interesting move by England,

Cook goes early in the session and Mohin Ali promoted to bat at 3

Time for Joe Root to stand up and bat his team into a commanding position, currently in all sorts. 4 down lead of 66
Dave Warner will be missed!

3/48, 196 to win. Game in the balance, get Kohli and that will open the door massively for England.

Virat Kohli might have been very fortunate not to be adjudged L.B.W.early in his innings
Appears the review process got it wrong- Kohi saved by an a inside edge
Replays showed there was no inside edge , this confirmed by members of the commentary team
India would have been about 4/40 at the time
Might cost England the test match

Poms won by 60 runs, you know your batting is average when Ali takes 9 for the match

Alistair Cook pulls the pin on International Cricket. Available for Essex until he's 47 though ;)

Nevertheless great to see the bunch of sooks get rolled. Ali picked in form and got the job done. Sam Curran looks like a exciting prospect for England, can play. He's had immediate impact with both bat and ball.

I've always found it hard to watch him bat as he's not very easy on the eye but he will be very hard to replace. Struggled of late, averaged 18.62 in 2018 but has a brilliant record, been the backbone of English cricket for a decade.

In this era of anyone getting paid a million bucks for being able to hit a 35mt six, I actually really enjoyed watching him bat. Knew his skills, limitations and role for the team, made runs pretty much all over the world, and seemed like a pretty solid, respectable person, even if that type of personality meant he lacked a little flair as a captain.

Fair enough well said, I just didn't like how awkward he looked at times (and probably because the Aussies bowlers found it hard to get him out at times) but that's not to say he's a bad player, a very adaptable batsman who succeeded despite his limitations.

Probably twenty years ago when batting and bowling seemed stronger and grittier, I would have agreed with you, or at least I wouldn't have appreciated Cook. Perhaps he was lucky , and Atherton otherwise, that he didn't coincide with McGrath's career
