Hahndorf's major weakness last year was batting. Shaun and Jarrad both hit a significant amount last year. It does make recruiting easier thats for sure. There are a few others who have agreed to play at Pine Avenue next season.

Few others? Juddy to step up from C Grade?

C'mon, Names please...........

Haha sadly Juddy is happy in C grade. Im not at liberty to say yet but they will be announced soon enough.

So........are you at liberties to shine some light on the new arrivals at Pine Avenue Caleb?

Disappointingly the Milang Mozzies have folded again after making a reappearance last season with a B Grade team
Ashbourne are also struggling having gone from 3 teams in 2016/17 to 2 teams last season and now this year are only nominating the 1 team that being A2. Certainly worrying times for the "Bulls" as well as the association.
On a positive note, Hahndorf appears to have become a destination club nominating 3 Senior teams up from 2 teams last season and only 1 team a few years b4 that.
Macclesfield are also putting in 3 Senior teams for the 1st time since God only knows when.
Bremer Callington looking to put in 3 teams? Indicated 2 at the AGM but now with Thommo captaining the ship the club appears to be sailing into fruitful waters :o Have heard they've been flashing the cash around a bit in an attempt to lure a few players, not sure whether they've landed any big fish tho?

Thanks for the heads up Caleb, I’ll check out the hahndorf page, Great to see two new teams in the A grade comp, I think Hahndorf should be fairly strong, I’ve heard a few ex meadows players may be heading there? How are Callington looking? I don’t really know a lot about them.
Always a shame to see clubs drop sides and even worse, fold completely. That said those two clubs are fairly close location wise does that mean Strathalbyn and the Creek may be the main benefactors from this?

Think a few of the Milang lads may head over to the Creek for a hit
As for Ashbourne players, not sure, think quite a few may have retired as their B Grade was a predominantly elderly team last year and their captain who pulled in a few players has moved on i believe?

having a stab in the dark at picking the Top 4 in A Grade this i'll go in no particular order Lobethal, Nairne, Hahndorf and Creeks.

I think you’re correct there Jackpot with those 4 plus Woodside, not sure if Strath will have the depth and don’t believe Wistow,Callington or Mt Barker will challenge, hope to be proven wrong but going on very little info. My tip is Lobey, Creeks then Nairne/Hahndorf

Would be a real travesty were the comp to lose Ashbourne. Being able to play on turf is a great experience and Ashbourne is a great oval.

A Grade 9 teams
Bremer Callington and Mt Barker to kick the season off with a stand alone match on the Labour Day Holiday Monday Oct 1st
Other A Grade matches to kick off on Sat Oct 6th with Lobethal having the "Bye" 1st up i believe.

A and A2 Grade fixture to be released by the end of the week is the intention

B Grade 8 teams at this stage.

C/D Grade to be determined once number of teams are confirmed which may not be until early October.

Not much news in TVCA circles. 8 of the 9 clubs will field an A Grade (Eden Valley the exception), while most will have a B Grade.

A Grade games have been trimmed back from 45 to 40 overs. Personally I enjoyed the longer matches.

B Grade games to now terminate once a result achieved. Makes sense in light of the A Grade format, and also the one-sided nature of some B Grade games.

Only 2 umps at this stage, so looking as though half the A Grade games will be self-umpired. Not fun.

No junior comps, with a handful of clubs (Lenswood, Birdwood, Gumeracha, Cambrai, maybe Springton) hosting junior sides in AEHCA.

Season starts October 6.

That's disappointing - going playing 70, then 50 over cricket, then 40 over one-dayers in various country A Grade comps dented my enjoyment of playing. Anyway.

What age are the colts teams? No chance of setting up a TV competition? How are Paracombe going for colts, do they still go down the hill like they did a few years ago when there were no TV teams?
