$44 per month with Foxtel Now. Basic plus sport. I get my old man to pay half and he can have a login. Also won't admit that he enjoys it after 20 years of being anti pay TV.

2 separate IQ3 boxes for the lounge & bar room, everything except movies works out around $120 p/month
I only watch sport & Sky Channel, the HD on a 65 inch is amazing.
The kids have plenty of channels both for entertainment & education, the missus watches a lot of drama series amongst other things.
I’ve had it for over 20 years, well worth the money for us.

Yep, that's when it's beneficial.

I pay $39pm for entertainment and sports. I got the same letter too last week and did mention how amusingly worded it was to my missus.
I have it in the lounge and use a media recorder bought from Woolies in the bedroom, that basically has access to every channel in the world, every sport live, every tv show ever made and every movie ever made for a one off cost of $100. Had one with kodi addons preinstalled on it previously bought from OS but now just install addons myself as required.

This is what I’m going to do. Testing out Foxtel now trial at the moment. Footy was actually pretty good. Only 720p (and ch7 ads for the games that are also on ch7) but more than worth dropping from $68 per month to $22 when I share it with a mate

Yep and the only buffering issues I've had is when Game of Thrones was on but I'm on ADSL.

I had Foxtel Now at my last place and it was ******* awful and even though it was free for me I gave up on using it.
That was with NBN and ADSL but admittedly it was Optus which housemate insisted sticking with for some reason.

Things that give you the sh1ts

by bennymacca » Fri Sep 07, 2018 2:16 pm

I’ve got 50Mb NBN with Aussie broadband - couldn’t recommend them highly enough, even at peak times we get 40+ and it’s rock solid. I’ve haven’t had a dropout that wasn’t fixed by restarting my modem and that has happened <5 times in a year or more

I tested having Foxtel now streaming on my pc and on the bedroom tv whilst the mrs was streaming HD Netflix in the lounge and it was rock solid.

So I think it’s one of those things that will be good if your internet can handle it and crap if it doesn’t

I found it quite clunky to use too and poor pictures but it may have improved in the last couple of years.
If it was cheap, looks as good as Optus Sports does now, had all the functionality of an IQ 2 or 3 was quick to navigate around I'd maybe reconsider it down the track.
Normal Foxtel looks spectacular on our massive Plasma and at $39pm cant complain.

They will not allow you to have sports only, as an existing customer you need to have the Basics package at a minimum and build from there.

My e-mail (In part) to Foxtel Customer Service.

Seriously, I have been a customer for over 17 years, payed my bill every month, on time & this is the BEST SERVICE you can offer me?

I would really hope my feedback is being taken seriously and that Mr Marco Miranda (Executive Director, Sales & Customer Experience) gets a copy of my e-mail. His letter dated 30 August 2018, is the most feeble, poorly constructed communication of a price rise I have ever encountered. To think this clown is most likely on a 6 figure salary is incredulous. If the rate increase is to pay this blokes salary, then I think you really are going nowhere as a reputable organization. To send a letter to customers with an opening line of “Thank you for your continued loyalty to Foxtel”…. And then ineptly outline a price rise of $3 + $12 = $15 – which I have since learnt is incorrect, is farcical.

When I spoke to your customer service staff this morning with my concern, it was explained the price rise was to cover new technology (that I don’t have or use) and that the new cricket channel was part of my sports pack, and I could NOT de-select it. So you (Foxtel) have moved the goal posts, and simply expect us the CUSTOMER, to accept it. You are out of touch if you think BBL cricket is what people will pay MORE $$ for. I will watch Test Cricket (in Australia) on free to air as I always have.

I was prepared to discuss my options with your customer service person on the phone, however they put me on an indeterminate hold, then tried to call me on my mobile, which I did not answer as I was on the land line on hold with you, did not leave a message, then sent me a disconnection e-mail. All in all appalling customer service from an arrogant organization.

I am still prepared to discuss the situation, but Foxtel apparently don’t want to discuss this with me.

Keep up the good work.

I will look at other options in light of no reply from you.
