Unless two are folding, not sure how that is going to work when everyone has signed two year agreements

fixed that for u

youd have to be numb nuts to not see the ship is sinking, you hate to end up stuck in a season where only 5 clubs remain? or something like that

You consistently underestimate the professional manner that most if not all SFL clubs are run.

My mail when umpiring at Flaggies three weeks ago was that not all clubs had signed that agreement (wasn't told who those clubs were and this post doesn't imply that Flaggies was one of those, location is coincidental).

Got told it would be a seven team comp too. Numerous sources have mentioned that to me during the year although the clubs going vary. Have also heard the SFL is trying to get some other clubs to return.

What was the SFL going to do if a club refused to sign, OK you're not playing this year and we'll forego the affiliation fees??
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Some real sad news coming out of Happy Valley, Hank Middleton sadly passed away yesterday morning.

For the short time i knew him, it wasn't hard to work out why he was so respected and liked, not only at the football club but throughout the league... Great guy and my thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
"Fellas, it’s OK to be in pain. It’s OK to hurt. It’s OK to be sad. It’s no longer OK to suffer in silence."

RIP Hank, never met you but saw you at every HV game always looking after players from both teams. :(

Vale Hank Middleton

The Board of Directors are saddened with the passing of Hank Middleton on the 4th September 2018.
Hank Middleton is an SFL Hall of Fame Member, SFL Life Member, Happy Valley Football Club Life Member, President of the Southern Trainers Association for twelve years and a S.T.A. Life Member, and has served his own club with distinction, forever changing the perception and the importance of all trainers within our Member Clubs over many years.
He was instrumental (together with SASMA) in updating protocols for the treatment of players suffering concussion South Australia wide.

Hank was always willing to assist with representative matches and had developed a great liaison with trainers from all clubs as well as other leagues right up to SACFL state team level.

In 2016 he was in a group to receive the inaugural SASMA Distinguished Service Award.

The League wishes for all Member Clubs players playing in the finals over this weekend to honour Hank with the wearing of black armbands, and for the A Grade games to have a minute’s silence prior to the start of the match.

Hank would be pretty chuffed about this honour from the SFL
Never met a better man and our club was better because of him
To shout him a light beer and get his opinion of the day's game was to get a lesson in footy

The word legend is used too much these days when talking about players and club people, but Hank was genuinely in that category.
The ultimate professional who took his role so seriously and was equally generous with his time to other clubs to help them develop their capabilities.
His level of care was well beyond expectation and his diligence in finding the latest treatments, protocols etc was relentless. 25 years of outstanding service to the club he loved and which loved him in return. RIP Hank and my condolences to the Middleton family on a tragic loss.

Well done all all junior award winners, was a good well run night in the main and great that each junior grade got their own count to add some drama.

As usual some staggering vote getting (a Cove kid getting 3 votes in a 190 point loss  ) but that sort of stuff adds to the mystique and uncertainty of B&F voting.

Maybe he was the fullback and kept giving the ball back to the umps .

Or the three best weren't necessarily the fairest?

Understand this is a pretty close imitation of the Cove Womans after party last Sunday..

Apparently If blokes did what they ALLEGEDLY did it would be all over the media.
