I wouldn't have thought so. Triple headers are the way to go when fixtures allow in the AdFL.

Works OK in juniors with dual permits.

Just putting it out there as C graders might be more likely to play if comp is local than heading North every 2nd week, mind you they would get belted so might not be the best idea.

Might be a 4 team comp if Hackham get in Div 7 next year. Or 5 if they stay.

You’ve got to let go of this travel issue Dutchy. Having 3 senior teams playing together on a Saturday is a beautiful thing in the AdFL. Adelaide isnt Sydney or Melbourne and if you love playing footy you are prepared to travel 30 or more km every now and then. There may be some SFL C graders who can’t play footy on a Saturday but the majority would still prefer to play on a Saturday regardless of a bit of travel. Watch the B and A grade afterwards, back to the club for awards and a few or plenty of drinks and then head out into the night knowing you can go your hardest without footy the next day to worry about.

Just a question!!!! SFL suits them for other grades of their footy.

After seeing Hackham C grade play in the last few weeks AdFL would be crazy to put them in anything under D6 and they would go very well in D6.

I think you’re severely underestimating the capabilities of some Div 6 clubs. How the heck could you justify putting a club in a higher div next year to start with when they have played in the 3rd tier comp of the SFL.

That's juniors and Womens. Makes no sense to split the Seniors.
If Hackham are that good they should go back in the Saturday comp.

Seriously if Hackham were to “do very well in div 6” then you would pretty much say they would be upper end and be competitive if they come up against a div 5 side....... Yeah nah!

He said Div 6, We have just seen OSB Lonsdale & Marion monster the Div 7 competition after not winning a game over the past two years.

Would the AdFL make the same mistake again?

"Monster"

Marion finished the regular season 3rd, ahead of another club's C Grade in 4th.

Both had very admirable seasons, but nothing to suggest that the standard they were placed in was an outrageous miscarriage.

Having seen a bit of Div 5 footy over the last few years, Hackham would not be out of place in that Div. Not sure many on here have seen them play this year. They had 2 C grade teams BTW so depth was there also.

with the rumoured demise of the SFL within the next 5 years or less where should these sides start in the adelfl? are they gifted an easy ride by starting low to work up higher or should they start higher being relegated if their not up to the Div standard until they find their level?

Would the AdFL be a bit gun shy of taking them on right now when they’re dealing with other clubs already eg Salis West & North?
If they did grant them entry, would they start on AAA?
Not sure they’d be granted entry higher than D7 - the other clubs that did come in higher were much larger, more successful organisations.
If Salis West weren’t granted affiliation next year, it would be a matter of whether Adel Luth would want to give up their spot in D6 or not.
Further to that, you’d think St Paul’s or whoever finished 3rd would be filthy at getting leap frogged for that D6 spot.

How can you have Hackham in Div 5 when flaggies "C" grade beat them easily in the grannie. IF they come in then it needs to be Div 7

Both Lonsdale and Marion this year put far better squads together than in previous years. It’s not comparing apples with apples. This years div 7 comp was far from a “mistake”. Besides Flinders Uni it was arguably the healthiest that div has been in a very long time.

Let’s get this right.

Hackham who play in the third tier of sfl would be competitive in div 5?

Flagstaff hill c grade beat them easily on the weekend?

What level of saafl do you rate flaggies c grade?

I think a fair comparison is this. The biggest football club in the state has a C grade in div 7, they got no where near winning it. They would at very worst be the same as Flagstaff Hill C grade who beat Hackham.

Be real here ffs. They’d get smashed in div 5.
