He's informed Gold Coast this morning mate.

FORMER Gold Coast co-captain Tom Lynch has officially informed the club he wants to join Richmond.

Lynch, 25, is a restricted free agent, so the Suns can match the Tigers' offer and force a trade if they wish.

In a statement, the club acknowledged this possibility, but it is expected they will let him go and take a compensation pick which is expected to come in at No.3

Bloody he'll Saints, keep it in your pants. Putting a 6 year deal to Shiel worth about 8mil in total. About 1.3ish mill per year.

Free agent next year, manager shopped him around for $850k plus per year, no takers at that coin so they know when they start negotiating with Port mid-next year they are starting at $800k and working backwards. The club now knows he's around the $650-700k per year player on the open market, no need for them to pay overs.

12 months is a long time in football....

Next year a club in the window, looking for a touch of class that's good for a few goals may be willing to pay $750-800.

or a club that keeps losing it's players maybe willing to pay overs to get an established player with good footskills (Wingard has to be willing to move though).

Who knows what the footy landscape will be for the restricted free agents in Oct 2019, what the draft looking like next year?
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Smart.
No club is coughing up what he wants this year plus the picks Port would want.
Clubs will happily pay overs for a free agent though.
This will be a big distraction for Chad and the club all year unless they can convince him to re-sign ASAP

Probably not many roles at opposing clubs for him, he could compliment the Eagles forward line when LeCras retires but they wont be keen to pay overs nor do they need to, he'll struggle at most other clubs if he'd have to be a starting midfielder.

He'd just be cashing in for a kick and a catch if he went to a bottom half club.

I thought his work rate was better this year than any other, maybe he felt he needed to add another dimension to his game to increase his value.

Can do some amazing things, just not often enough.

Sam Lloyd off to the doggies.

Sad about this, I know were going to lose multiple "depth players" but he's not one I wanted to let go.

With a couple of younger forwards already linked to WCE, wouldn't think they'd be interested in Wingard, especially at his price.

Which could suggest they are getting Lobb for less and they are happy to persist with Vardy as a fill in for Nic Nat. Could also mean they are freeing up more coin for Gaff.

$600k seems about right for Lycett, interesting that WCE aren't matching because, if anything, it might be $50k overs, certainly not Polec overs.

Lobb I'd think would be on the same sort of coin coin so they're obviously happy to let someone go who wants to go home after helping them win a premiership to get someone who wants to come home.
