One bloke, a billion years ago, it wasn't their fault they got caught.

Never recovered.

Bollocks, they made a very clear decision about 3 years ago to go down the path of a complete rebuild, that was their choice to do so.

The fall out from the salary cap cheating did last for many years, but that was wiped out two rebuilds ago.

I really hope that Carlton can snag a few this draft and start working their way up the ladder again, their recruiting has been abysmal for some time now so something's gotta give.

I'd start by not paying Shiel anywhere near that. 3rd or 4th string midfielder at GWS. Need to pay overs to get players but that's too much.

We have to start somewhere though.
If we have to pay overs for McGovern and Shiel then so be it.

Time to move forward and up the ladder ASAP.

That was my point, they never recovered from big Jack and recruiting has been as poor as anyone's since, that's the luxury of being a coach of a crap side, you can buy 4 or 5 years at the helm with the word "rebuild".

Shiel and McGovern might lift you 1-2 spots tops. Going to take several more years of good drafts to get back to being competitive

I’m still wondering what Carlton has to trade with Adelaide?

I disagree, Elliott's balls up went out the window 2 rebuilds ago. This one is 100% on this administration.

Partly to blame who have left are Kernahan and Trigg.
McKay has to accept the blame as well as Silvagni too.

No easy fix unfortunately

Collingwood have finally offered Langdon a contract. His manager (Scott Lucas) said he has no choice but to consider options from other clubs.

Surely the Pies won't lose him because they have a big offer for May?

They'd wanna hope Ziebell and Cunnington don't get injured.

Shane McAdam, although with Stengle coming in that might dull Adelaide's enthusiasm for him. I think we'll trade ourselves into the top 20 (without sacrificing pick 1) by offering up next year's first rounder and then use that to get McGovern.

We have pick 24 and 25 but I think we'll need those elsewhere.

I really hope we look at guys like Dom Tyson. Good outside user of the ball that we missed when we lost Gibbs.

Not sure how we'll get McGovern AND Shiel if he does come to Carlton but that's luckily not my problem.

Silvagni? How? He took over a mess and has been part of the plan to go to the draft (circa 2016). I can't see how he's part of the problem, sorry.

My angle was more of inside hard ball get players, I think the 3 potential recruits will be very handy, Hall was harshly dealt with at the Gold Coast, he must have stuffed up off the field somehow, if North land all 3 it will be huge for them, a replacement for Waite would be next on the wishlist to take some heat off Brown.
