GEELONG has demanded at least a top-10 draft pick for Tim Kelly if the star midfielder is to return home to a WA club.

Twelve months after securing Kelly with the 24th pick in last year's NAB AFL Draft, the Cats have declared they want an "exceptional deal".

"His value's increased enormously and it's going to have to be an exceptional deal for us to even consider it," Wells told NAB AFL Trade Radio on Monday.

"Definitely he's worth a top-10 pick, I would've thought, and perhaps more.

"Our intention at the moment, unless we're totally satisfied, is he will be playing for us in 2019."
Well then he'll be playing at Geelong or Freo I would say.

We simply don't have a top 10 pick and Freo look like they'll need there first rounders for Hogan.

Not worth a top 10 Pick.
Interesting to see how Geelong go for the next 3 years with an ageing list and poor depth. I guess Scott keeps topping up until he leaves.

People have been saying that since 2011. Put it this way, I'd rather be making finals year in year out and actually giving yourself a chance at a flag (you gotta be in it it win it) rather than a few of these clubs who are perpetual spuds year in year out.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Mate is there anyone your not into at the moment?

Also Lloyd was a good depth player for the tigers. I know they are moving some salary cap room around but they have lost a couple of good depth players which is part of the reason they have bee good for the last 2 years.

Forced out, could have signed at anytime, waited to long. Now he got the money he wants. Pick 20 for WC is good compensation.

Unbelievable compensation. Franklin pick 19 , lycett pick 20, yeah seems fair, both were leaving the premiers. Hawks shouldve got pick 1 for franklin, ******* joke

Shouldn't be any compensation. Match the offer and force a trade. Want to be like the americans with free agency and drafts, thats the side effect. Lebron left cleveland and they got nothing.

You blokes repeating Rucci articles?

Coming from a low base here lads.

The ruck-forward is being touted as the missing link for Port, who were beaten preliminary finalists last season - but Hinkley dismisses such talk as a media beat-up.

"Without being disrespectful, the people who are saying Paddy's the missing piece are writing the stories and producing the shows," Hinkley told reporters on Thursday.

"I'm not going to sit here and deny Paddy Ryder is a significant get for our footy club because he is, and we're really happy to have him here.

"But he's not the missing piece ... you're not one player away from being a great side."

Genuine question booney, do you think 5 years is a bit long for a ruckman aged 26 that has other then this year a bad injury history?
