Ten test ducks now. He's not the first Australian batsman to make that many ducks but he's certainly the first to do it in 59 innings.

Thing is, his Shield average over his career is about 39. He has never done anything at Shield level to demonstrate that he belongs anywhere near the test side.

Surely at 35 years of age his time is up...

I actually thought Head looked quite good last night, especially the longer he batted - by the end of the day (granted fatigue may have played a part) he looked more likely than Khawaja.

He's starting to find his feet a little now. Hope he goes on and makes a solid score now.

They're mesmerised by his "perfect technique".

Amazing the run some get - Ferguson scores 3 & 1 on debut - first ball faced was a hat trick ball on a hooping green Tassie deck, and is run out from a direct hit from 3rd man - and is dumped. Shaun Marsh constantly in and out of the side - granted when he does get going he generally score big, but so many scores under 30. Then you've got Mitch Marsh who has played almost as many test as Shaun, apparently an allrounder but would be lucky average 7 over an innings (just guess) and frankly has done sweet FA. 101 and 181 versus an average England attack last year, the 96 against South Africa was good but sooo many failures in between.
