Is this the second club to be willing to let him go.

Flags concerns to me that there is a reason for it, if anything the number pick he was sets of bigger flags. If he was a second strike player and the AFL knew would they then understand why a club would release him so cheaply.

I’m sure the AFL would have enquired as to why they are letting him go.

Maybe the club gave some solid financial planning in regards to the freed up salary and potential tactic with that.

He took a 6 year $6m deal from GWS when they started up. He's cited personal reasons for wanting to go back to Victoria and that has to be respected.

He badly broke an ankle early this year ( that's for @HH3 who doesn't watch AFL football ) and there's reports it's not come along very well, but, Hawthorn has reportedly offered him a 4 year deal after putting him through a medical, the Hawks don't make mistakes like that.

I think we were very interested in him but the reports from the medicos wasn’t great. May require further surgery and miss a fair chunk of next year. Pick 53 and a minimum wage might be worth the risk for Hawthorn.

For me the Richmond thank you to the Suns after they didn't match the lynch offer, picking up Pick 3 for free had a bigger smell to it than the Scully trade. AFL should have blocked that one before this one.
And I understand why they didn't block either.

So were any trades completed today? Or just another day of maggots like Barrett and Maclure making up stories?

At the end of the day he's just got to think how lucky he is to be playing in the AFL and take comfort in the fact that he's not going to Carlton

The gap’s closing, in a couple of year’s time he might be wishing he was at Carlton...

Yes they gained 2 places on us from last year, but I wouldn't call finishing bottom with 2 wins closing the gap

One of his best mates from Adelaide, is a mate of my son. Agreed to terms this afternoon. More money to get the deal done.

He is gutted, as loved living in Melbourne and had just brought a house. But his family is here, and all his original mates obviously, and his girlfriend is Bruce Abernathy's daughter, so she is coming home to Adelaide too, so in the end he had no real choice but to accept it.

The life of a footy player in the AFL these days, nobody is safe anymore no matter what contract you have in place. Why no one can have a go at Polec for taking such great money when your career can be over in a blink of the eye!

Definetely not worth that given his injury background, crazy talk. It'd be pretty tough getting a kick up the attacking end of the ground at freo too (while ross is coaching there anyway)

That's staggering it really is. No wonder that Freo started to go cold on Hogan.

Oddly enough it wasn't because Freo were just being difficult. How strange Barrett was again way of the mark.
