I reckon the deal is done too, i wouldnt expect any of the big trades to be announced until prime time tomorrow evening, they will dodgy it up so one or two of the big deals only appear to get done in the last 2 minutes of the trade period

Agreed Daisy. I think Fox are doing some sort of live coverage in the closing hours of trade period, so I'd expect the Wingard & Hogan deals to be announced then.

Read the article boon didn't hear the interview. Doesn't sound like he said much. Just that you guys didn't come to the table with a good enough deal.

Oh and that the move to North is not financially motivated.......

"I've spoken to him a few times about it, not during the season, but after the season," Polec told Channel Nine's The Trade Table on Monday night.

"His head was kind of in no man's land at that stage and I believe that he's heartbroken.

"He loves the club, anyone that speaks to him knows he loves Port Adelaide.

"It was a bit of a shock decision."

Nothing surprising here.

The game style we played didn't suit the players we have. We tried playing a possession game that didn't suit 1), our young back half when under pressure and 2), our potent forward half that just wanted some one-on-one opportunities to kick a winning score more often.

Big summer for the coach at Alberton, there has to be change made, significant change made, to the game style.

IF this is correct, then this backs up what some Port posters have been saying about Wingard and his relatonship with the coach, and the club in general.

The enigmatic Wingard, 25, released a cryptic social media message a fortnight ago telling fans they would hear his side of the story when "the time is right" and that "unless a statement comes from me or my management, don't listen to them".

Club great Kane Cornes said in the wake of the Instagram post that Power officials were "furious" about it.

On Monday night Cornes said Wingard became unhappy after his season-ending exit interview but that it was his work ethic that had put him on the chopping block.

“The only reason Wingard is leaving is because he’s not feeling a lot of love for Ken Hinkley and perhaps more security and more finances from Hawthorn," Cornes said.
