Exactly what we've been doing with Birchall and (for the best part) Rioli for the past 2 years. Be good to get a full salary cap on the field.

It's expected Port could end up with Brisbane's pick 5, Hawthorn's pick 15 and Ryan Burton and give up pick 6 and Wingard ( along with something else, future 3rd/4th rounder ).

If Port can end up with 5,10,15 and Burton after losing Wingard, Polec, Pittard ( boohoo ), Amon whilst not thrilled at one of our losses ( Wingard ) I'll be happy that we've got the best possible outcome for our club.

3 picks in the top 15 and Ryan Burton. Not many clubs would knock back compensation like that.

Good compensation that's for sure but a step backwards. You will pick up some very handy players in the draft but they want have the same impact as a Polec or Wingard for a few years. For a team that topped up with experience players last season to challenge it's not ideal but a decent outcome considering.

Sydney and Adelaide don't look to have improved their team's from this past season. If anything they have gone the other way....on paper at least.

Wingard is a loss, one of my favorites and someone who will hurt watching them in another guernsey, but I know you get them feels. Very hard to replace but hopefully whoever we get at pick 5 can come straight in as most top 10 picks are expected to do.

Polec, was only in the middle of 2017 that he was dropped for dead set ordinary efforts and he's had one solid year this year. Been nothing more than that, no super star, solid. North need runners, are prepared to pay him overs, good luck to him but he's replaceable.

Can 5 and 10 have the same impact as those two? Probably not, but this group needed a shake up and if it means losing Wingard to set some new standards then so be it.

Pittard and Amon no loss, not even to the Magpies.

Hope it works out better than the last time you had 3 first round picks.

Trading of picks doesn’t have to be finalised today does it? Only player movement must finish today.

Player movement by 8:30 Eastern.

Picks can be traded up to 5 minutes before the pick is taken on draft night.

The swan supporter groups on Facebook are absolutely livid. I personally don't think our list is that bad, and if we can actually have a decent run with injuries we can certainly push top 4, but i was certainly hoping we'd be alot more active.

i feel we are banking alot on getting Blakey.
