Interstate sides have a genuine home ground advantage. Collingwood playing Richmond, Hawthorn, Essendon etc at the MCG isn’t really a HGA

I agrree with that.

Same advantage the VFL sides have playing at home against an Interstate side. Clubs from WA etc have to do it 10 times though.

Which is balanced by 10 times where they have absolute HGA.
Looking at 2019

WEST COAST
HGA: 10
50/50: 2
Away: 10

ESSENDON
HGA: 5
50/50: 11
Away: 6

So we agree the home ground advantage / away game disadvantage balances out.

Which gets back to DOCs original point of the volume of travel. WA sides still do more of that than vic sides.

Also, Collingwood & Essendon get yet another leg up by never having to play at Kardinia Pk, Ballarat, Hobart, Launceston, Cairns, Alice Springs, China etc
I understand the crowd factor but it’s still another huge advantage they’re given.

I’m happy to play down in Geelong and think we should be made to go there but no to all those other dumps. If clubs want to whore themselves out to other cities let them do so against the low drawing clubs

Essendon and Collingwood the new darlings of the draw in 2019, putting a lot of faith in Essendon to make the finals and all of a sudden Collingwood are considered greater than Richmond for winning the prelim, take that result away and you have to question the faith they are putting in them

The goss up here in Darwin/Tiwi Islands is Brisbane have tabled an offer to Cyril Rioli Jnr and he is considering it.

Will depend on what his grandfather (Long side of the family) says as Cyril is back up here as he is crook but if he says "go Grandson, it's what I want"....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Pretty sure he cant play anywhere next year as he was contracted for 2019. I know there was some cock up with the official red tape side of things but i cant see the AFL letting him play anywhere next year, altough being Brisbane they might turn a blind eye, make it up as they go type thing
