How do you weigh out fine but weigh in a kilo over?

Did he stop for an all you can eat lunch on the way to the barrier?

Guessing. To make the weight he restricted fluids, soon as he weighed out he poured it in. Or, he was over when he weighed out (normally notified at the track).

It is more likely he was overweight to begin with. As I understand it, stewards must give permission for the horse to be ridden overweight.

In 2004, Michael Walker was a half kilo overweight and the trainer replaced him with Blake Shinn.

1kg more than you’re meant to be, over 3200m, beaten by only one length in a $7m race...
If I was an owner I would’ve strangled Bowman.

Nothing in the stewards report about him being allowed to ride over

I reckon a kilo over that distance equals at least one to two lengths

Be interested to see Walker and the connections of A Prince of Arran when they met up later in the day. Walker is a hot head, his comments about it "Would have won if they didn't run it on the weekend" might have made for some interesting talks.

It won the Lexus, but his comments suggested he felt it didn't need to run in that race.

Barrier?

Yep, after the Monday night rain it was going to be too difficult to get across from the carpark where the barriers start on a bend, we were still hopeful as he was to ease out and slip behind them in the early stages, trainers decision is always the right one.

He's running Saturday in a race with bigger prize money and similar field, the enigma of running on Melbourne Cup day was the only real incentive to run yesterday but yeah, I woke up disappointed to read the email.

My day got better, went to the pub instead, walked in, went to put a tri on and there was the tiniest faint line near one of the race letters so the machine wouldn't read the ticket, by the time the bar staff fixed it the race had started and my ticket would've put me $180 up within minutes, she tried to make me look like an idiot too until I showed her what caused it, I then got a free beer.

You should be able to correct the ticket yourself on the screen facing you?

Yep, if the code was incorrect you can amend on the screen and "buy".

Her and the bar manager were there, I was in a fluster to get the bet on and I never stuff my tickets up, hindsight say I should've just amended it on screen, she was there though and thought I wanted the next race in CR, CR was never part of the equation, that's where the confusion and delay was.

Got a link?

I hate holding people up, I ended up scoring 4 free pints from the bar staff yesterday filling out tickets for dingbats that don't know what they are doing.

I generally have the seat closest to the UBET console so I get to hear all of the twits soaking up the bar staff's time for a dollar each way on something for Aunty Beryl.

Pt Lincoln Race 7 No. 2 Galaxy Falls. Should win and you can get $3.30 fixed at the moment. Be surprised if it goes out further than that.
So you've seen everything have you?
