Interesting that Sri Lanka have been playing cricket for the last few weeks and Peter sleep has been spotted in cricket circles in Adelaide since the start of pre-season and as recently as the opening 6 weeks of TTG cricket. Didn’t he “quit” Ttg to be Stu lankan spin coach? I haven’t spotted him on my TV during the England series.

Apparently that role fell through after a change of government in Sri Lanka. Sport and politics mix extremely heavily over there.

No Michael Cranmer or James Miller playing for East Torrens on Saturday. Anyone know why? Pretty costly - lose their No 3 and 4 batters from their win the previous game.

There was talk of Cranmer moving to the Gullies to play with mates, obviously would be tough for him to play this game between the two clubs so assuming he will be back next round...in a maroon cap

Good to see Spencer Johnson back for West Torrens. Has had a wretched run.

Wow... would be massive if true. Always seemed a player who was East Torrens through and through.

Made a ton for ET last game!

Is the suggestion/rumour related to recreational drugs?

not true according to those who are close to Cranmer from TTG... unless they are remaining extremely tight lipped. on the subject

Cranmer missing this game due to a wedding. Not sure about Miller.

Few interesting results

TTG back on track with an outright over East Torrens
Glenelg cruising vs Sturt, 4/237 heading for at worst a draw. Then imploded losing 6/15
Woodville declared way behind Kensi then got 300 in a 2nd innings run chase
Port chased down 300 vs Jets
Adelaide clung for a draw vs WT, 9 down

Umpiring in the Adelaide Vs West Torrens match was bloody disgraceful for both sides. One could say verging on incompetent and laughable. Might be more to come!!!!!

What was the issue?

Was it about the light and rain? Must have been a late finish

Terrific game by the looks. Two blokes getting 150s, came down to the last ball.

Nice to see Spencer Johnson get a few wickets too. Will make a big difference to WTs bowling attack

Looks like Port Adelaide got four junior teams on the park this round

Great effort. First time in a while I'm guessing.

Would have taken a fair bit of work to get to that point so well done to them. Will take even more work to help them improve and be competitive each week but hopefully some steps in the right direction.

14 whites have been players from Sturt that miss out for their own club.

Adelaide Vs West Torrens: Nothing to do with the conditions but the poor decision making of the umpires, giving a boost to one team, then cutting them down and giving a boost to the other. This happened several times. Possibly the draw was the fairest result but Adelaide were never going to win.

Adelaide needed another bat to get a ton with Valente for any chance. They didn't so game ended with a draw.

Batting the full 96 overs on Day 1 probably an error on West Torrens part in hindsight
