Yep fantastic isnt it... and the best is yet to come- the rookie daft- where the sa based afl clubs can cherry pick oppostion sanfl players to bolster their own sanfl teams -and deplete their opposition at the same time.

God, it's like kids signing up for war service. They want to go, and you're supposed to feel so proud, but there's some other feeling of dread underneath it all. Maybe that's just me, mourning the loss of 4 already. Best of luck to all the SANFL boys, make the most of your talents and come home as legends.

No it's not, but it is still very annoying. Makes me wonder what's the point of having good players only to have them stolen by the AFL.

Huge blow for the Dogs. He was a great player for them from the minute he arrived at the club.

Brother Fort will stay with Central after securing employment in SA recently. Great family.

Massive loss. Happy not playing for port or crows against us. Unless we can recruit quite a few, 2019 is looking pretty worrying.

Was speaking to a multiple premiership player a couple of weeks back who offered to help with recruiting last year and was told no thanks. With the profile this bloke has I cannot fathom why we wouldn't utilise him.

And can beat the Eagles even with a 47 point handicap.
We might lose 19 players to the draft the way things are going!
Luckily our reserves players perform better in finals than Eagles league players do!

If I heard correctly on 5AA Port Adelaide adds Pudney and Frederick from the Eagles to its list as Category B rookies. This academy business is B/S. Cat B when they are local players.

Crows have Darryl borlase son in their Academy because he was born overseas. Been in Australia basically his whole life and dad is a sanfl premiership player but qualifies for cat B if selected. Need to just abolish the whole thing including father son and equal opportunity for every club to draft everyone or get rid of draft and just go back to zones.

Not sure if South were in for him but Ryan Griffin will play for Goolwa / Port Elliott this year.

Long gone are the days of SANFL Clubs being guaranteed to get a couple of years out of retiring AFL players / SANFL ex juniors.

Going to have a kick with his brother at his junior club, I'd think that's great for the game and the GSFL region.

I understand South would welcome him with open arms but at 32, having retired from the AFL after so many injuries, can't really blame him for wanting a genuine kick and a catch with little commitment.
