Basically choked and just about forgot how to hit the ball reasonably straight!

Qualified 3rd in c grade... so thought k may be a chance. Halved the 1st hole, lost the next 7, won the 9th. 6 down with 9 to play wasn't a good way to turn.

Got tob7 down with 8 to play, pit a few good holes together and ended up losing after the 15th

It was a close tustle all day long, and good B grade golf quality.
Ended up losing 3&2.
Had a putt on 16 to keep it going, it was a ******* dolly of a putt.
But cant complain overall.
Finished at 6.30....certainly a long day.

Played there last Friday, hadn't been there for a few years, was keen to see the changes they had made after driving past regularly.

First up I have had gout in my left wrist for 2 weeks now and while Im on the home straight it is still sore, got around OK but had to release the left hand in the follow thru which wasn't ideal.

I love what they have done with the 2nd/3rd hole, in particular the 2nd, now a short par 4 uphill, very similar to the 11th at Flaggy, well bunkered and a tough green, pin was up the back in a tiered corner which I presume was the set up for Sat comp. Walked off with a par which I dont think would be the norm there. The new par 5 down the South fenceline is a great hole also and the 9th is a good finish to the front 9 right in front of the clubhouse.

Overall very impressed with the changes and certainly makes it a better course, hopefully they continue the work on the fairways as some are still in patchy shape.

Back 9 is still the same and tougher than the front 9. Greens are the quickest in the South and take a while to get used to, I cant imagine what they would be like in mid January with a howling Northerly!

I shot a 44 on the Front and tired with a 50 on the back when I struggled to hit a fairway.

There are still little things that could be improved. Around some greens could be better, eg 10th.
And yeah the pin locations you had friday sound the same as saturday comp, although the week before they did change some from friday to Saturday...... the buggers!
Im still getting used to the greens....which is a worry.

Course was dry and you could tell the green staff didnt care much, most greens had grass that was burnt thru lack of water. Im not fussed about fairways but once you stop looking after your greens its a slippery slope, glad to hear it is in good nick as I have usually enjoyed going there
