Not to mention his stints on the Cricket with the touchscreen were average at best. Good on him for thinking of life after Cricket, but while you can I'd still be picking Cricket over the media gig.

In 1978 Sturt had a 2 week break before playing in the Grand Final against Norwood
North Melbourne also had a break in the VFL
The 2 teams played a trial match in between finals, NM 20-12 beat ST 11-10
Star Sturt defender, Gary Hardeman was injured in the scratch match, and missed the important SANFL grand Final as a result

Dejavu , 40 years later
Nic Maddinson breaks his arm , playing in a Sheffield Shield match
As a result Nic Maddinson will miss the start or all of the important BBL season

Copeland wouldn't have a BBL contract, hence the reason he is commentating. Has a 2 month gap in his year & will fill it commentating.
