Table of 10, booked for 7pm, we arrive ( 4 of us ) at 7 on the dot, nobody else there.

Order 2 pales, 2 bourbon and cokes, over the next 15-20 minutes the rest of the group arrives, 7:20 and no drinks. Ask where they are, get them at 7:30. Half an hour for a beer. Bad signs.

At 7:30 everyone orders, most people have entree's, I tell him to bring them all out first, the people without entree's were happy to wait.

Mrs Boon and I share a chicken satay and shallot pancake entree, she goes chicken in cashew for mains, I went sweet and sour pork, shared steam rice.

7:50 and the satays arrive with the steam rice. Nobody else gets anything.

8:10 Mrs Boon gets her mains, others still waiting for entree's.

8:30 I order another beer and ask where the shallot pancakes are, at this time ( 1 hour from ordering ) some people at the table had got mains, some still hadn't got a drink from the 7:30 order and some were still waiting on their entree's.

9:00 my beer comes along, I ask where my mains are, have given up on the shallot pancakes, "Not far away" they say.

1 1/2 hours after ordering of the 6 people who ordered entree's 4 of them had got them. Of the 10 people who ordered mains 8 had got them.

I call the young bloke over, tell him to cancel my order I'm over it, mate next to me who hadn't got his entree or main 90 minutes on told them to stick it too.

I went to the counter with the intention of paying for 1 bourbon and coke and 2 beers, the chick tries to sting me with all my meal, bullshit to that. I said I'm paying for 3 drinks, 1 chicken satay and 1 chicken in cashew. "No, you have pancake, pork and rice" "Be ****** I did". Spent 15 minutes arguing with her, eventually won.

Went to 55ml bar ( in Mill St ) for a few ales ( good little spot ) and got HJ's on the way home bumming a lift from mates.

Ding Hao, get ******.

Went to see Bohemian Rhapsody last saturday arvo which was followed by Dinner at Seacliff Hotel.

5 people.

Ordered Potatoe skins for entree, thinking there might be a delay with mains.
They were fair at best. But came out quick.

Mains to our surprise came out quickly.
2 burgers, chicken schnitzel, steak and I had the fishermans basket.
No complaints with any meal, which is a shock as there are always complaints with these people.
Fisherman's Basket was quite a decent serving.

Service was prompt.
Food was good for Pub.
I'd happily go back, if not for the food, to sit find and sit in an SA Footys icon reserved padded stool

7.5/10

Boonys - Port Noarlunga

Despite having my "Boon" shirt on I didn't get any discount, but that's ok as the food was well worth paying full tote odds for :D .

4 of us for lunch, Sunday before New Years. Nice little place, great day after a few wineries and a brewery or two in McLaren Vale.

Sat outside at a 4 seater table, had a waitress ask us almost upon sitting down if we wanted a table water, "yes please". Came back with water and menu's, disappeared for 5 minutes and came back to see if we wanted drinks, ordered drinks. Good work. Brings the drinks out and says "I'll be back in 5 minutes or so to take your orders, that ok?". Sure is. Came back around 5 minutes later and took orders. Perfect. Brings the entree out for us to share, checks if we need any more drinks, all good, heads off. Comes back as we are finishing entree "All ok?", yep, "Drinks?" yes please, drinks come out just before mains. Saw her once more about middle of mains to see if everything was ok, IMO, great service.

Kicked off with roast pumpkin arancini balls, big tasty, moist, shared a plate of 4 so one each, perfect little starter.

Myself and mate went the slow cooked moroccan lamb burger, Mrs Boon went the lasagna, mates wife the fettuccini alla panna.

Lasagna was huge, fettucini the same, neither of the ladies finished their feed. Lamb burgers were excellent, BUT, they'd drizzled a pesto oil on the top of the bun, WTF for? Big burgers are hard enough to pick up, hold and consume at the best of times without getting covered in grease, why put a topping of oil on the bun? Only complaint.

2 Swell Pales for me, 2 Swell goldens for the mate, 2 bourbons and coke each for the girls, $160, $80 per couple, $40 per person, pretty good value.

Food - 9/10
Service - 9/10
Value - 9/10

The place looks like a standard pizza bar, burger joint but the food is much better than the place's appearance suggests. It's better than a pizza/burger joint, give it a whirl if you're down that way.

SAMMYS FISH AND CHIPPERY
Love this shop

2 of us had lunch there recently
I had
Grilled Dory
Greek Salad, Coleslaw, Potato salad
Coke Zero

Dory was succulent , one of the best grilled fishes Ive had
The salads were wonderful, I particularly liked the creamy potato salad
As for the coke zero, it does not work for me ...

My mate had
Yiros
Chips
Coke zero
He made particular mention of how good the chips were

Great fish shop, prices are more than reasonable , food always very good, every time I have eaten there
There are a few tables inside and outside to dine , or for takeaway
They use Uber Eats for deliveries
Excellent shop, highly recommended
PS I dont have shares in the shop

Here are my top rated fish and chip meals in Adelaide, in no particular order
Sammys Fish And Chippery, North East Road, Collinswood [named after the owner Sam, an experienced and pleasant manager ]
Beach Pit, Jetty Road Brighton[Adam, and Tony make a very very good fish and chips]
Port Noarlunga Fish Shop, Saltfleet Street. Port Noarlunga [ Jimmys fish shop was reviewed on TV recently]

Good to hear you got down there, and even better that they delivered.

We got a voucher for them from the neighbours, and even better news is the Seafood Platter is back

good to see you sampling the Southern Vales Boon!

Still yet to get to Bonny's but will give it a crack in the next month. Porties is under going quite a resurgence atm, council needs to be congratulated with a lot of the work they have done down there and support of local businesses.
