Inside with the A/C going.
Yeah ******* hot.....

Anyone on here actually work outside?
I couldn’t imagine it in this heat.

Yep, spend a fair bit of my day in it.
My lad is a chippy and his tight arse Italian boss will have them working most of the day tomorrow on the roof

Is your factory in China?
Surely we have better policies for factory workers these days?

Or is it just part of the job still?

Don’t mind me while I turn the A/C down to 21 degrees as I’m getting hot in this office now.

I get home after work to look forward to the cool house only to find the step-son has windows open, blinds up and every f***** door in the house open with the air-con working it's **** out for seemingly nothing.

This never ends, for the past 2 years I explain nearly daily that the bathroom does not need air-conditioning and it actually fights what you are trying to do with the rest of the house, I even put signs on the door........................................FFS!!!!

Depends what award they fall under.

Our staff fall under an award that really only states the employer must provide fresh water. We have several water coolers, each work station has a big industrial pedestal fan, we buy the neck cooler / gel neckerchief things, we usually go and get ice blocks at smoko or lunch for them, there's a shower on the premises so some of them have a shower at lunch to cool down.

In my opinion the laws aren't sound enough, but, given Friday is only going to be 33° you would say that's ok to work in but our factory will be hot for days and days after this little stretch.
PAFC. Forever.

I sometimes walk out of the office door into the factory and rub my arms saying "brrrr", the blokes on the floor love it.

I do the same thing. They do love it.

Had a driver cracking the shits this morning. Told me he had too much to do to add one delivery I needed done.

He said "Im going home early today" to which I replied "Probably not."

I understand it's hot, and I've been in his position, but can't take the whinging and attitude towards me like I control the weather.

He's sucking up my arse now.

It’s funny how us ‘office’ workers are talking about it being hot and 44 degrees tomorrow.
How the hell would we know.

Yep, I've spent many years working my arse off in a factory where my jocks felt like I've been swimming, all the laws now look after the workers, if it gets too hot here they get 10 minutes per hour break, there's an endless supply of cold bottled water, massive fans that you can feel from 20 metres away and pretty much anything the fella's ask for to keep cool.

Same with us Boon. Plenty of water stations, there is A/Cs out there but they are swampys in a saw tooth factory so they struggle.

Yeah I'm thinking about putting the ceiling fans on too just to circulate the 18 degree air around a bit more. Might wait until lunch time because I don't want to pneumonia.

We get sent home on full pay once the temp at Kent Town reaches 38°.

Swampys begin to lose their effectiveness at about 38 degrees from memory.....at 45 degrees totally useless!

We still use Kent Town, Parafield would be preferred some days though as it tends to get hotter earlier...
