What's most concerning is he doesn't look like he knows the answer.

Some bowlers lose their way but drop back a gear or two, go back to their stock ball and hit a length for a few overs to get some rhythm and accuracy back. He's just belting in and letting them fly thinking that will work, he doesn't have a stock ball to go to.

Not a good look for our front line bowler or bowling coaches. Against the Lankan's he could have been sent out to bowl 3 or 4 overs like he was at centre wicket practice, just trundle them down at 135km/h and get them on the spot.

play Will Pucovski and stoinis next test.
rest starc get the duke ball into his hands now and get him bowling in the nets.
rest Uzzie or open him and let burns go, ( I wouldn't personally id give him one more test )

Perth Scorchers made 79 all out last night with Mitchell Marsh making 5 batting at #3 and Shaun Marsh a duck.

Might not be enough runs for Shaun to get back but surely Mitchell will be a late inclusion for the out of form Khawaja in Friday's Test.

Starc has been average for 13 months now.

If it wasn't for our poor batting performances his spot would have come under scrutiny much earlier.

Without Mitch's efforts they would've only made 74, glass half full.

In the last Ashes Test last summer both Marsh boys and Uzzie made tons. Now only Uzzie remains and he is struggling as much as Starc with the ball. Yet his (lack of) form seems to be getting under the radar.

Not that I want to downplay Khawaja's worrying lack of form this summer, but the reason why he isn't being talked about in the same way as the Marshes is because he has a reasonable test record over the course of his career, and this summer is perhaps being seen as a blip. The century he scored against Pakistan is also our most recent.

Of course, he would want to drastically turn around his form leading into the Ashes/WC.

I'm not sure if England still play Moeen Ali, but if they do, Khawaja at least doesn't have much to worry about in terms of spin which is his weakness.

Why? The head dismissal would have been out without the DRS so it hasnt changed a thing.

Just because to me if you have DRS it should either be out or not out - umpires call is too much grey. Take the Head dismissal, had it been given not out then he gets the benefit of the doubt and is not out despite the ball hitting the stumps - either way it's a shit feeling for one of the sides.

Cricket Australia's greed has certainly bitten them on the arse in BBL.
Not many in Sydney tonight. Other games have seen similar small crowds.

Had a dream last night.. strangely enough woke up this morning and thought it's probably not far out of the realms of possibility..

With the BBL season continually extended to make more money, what are the chances CA eventually go down a path like AFL and turn an entire summer of cricket into a franchise based national competition?

But it wasn't given not out, and before DRS he would have still been walking to the pavilion.

Spat my coffee everywhere this morning reading the fish wrapper saying that the Shield salary cap is going to have to take a hit to pay for an increase in the BBL cap.

Have these **** got any ******* clue at all? Our Test team is at a 30 year low and they can see the reason why!

Unchanged for Canberra Test.

Neither Marcus Stoinis or Will Pucovski will be given the chance to prove themselves at Test level ahead of the Ashes, after both were overlooked for Australia’s final five-day assignment before the series in August.

Australia captain Tim Paine on Thursday announced an unchanged team to face Sri Lanka at Canberra’s Manuka Oval in the series-decider, starting Friday.

That means Stoinis and Pucovski will end the international summer of cricket without baggy greens, and with a massive dent in their Ashes aspirations.

Honestly, why the hype, why take him away from his BBL duties, he was never gonna play.
