Dublin's Will Hart has found some form, three half centuries from his last four innings'.

Kudos to whoever it was doing the live scoring in the PGCC vs Angle Vale match, 2 out of 3 doing it Grade 1 on Saturday was excellent.

Good to see Mark McConnell playing A's for the Gardens, always was a very handy bat, he always said to me he was shitting himself when we played against each other but I struggled to get him out and he always made runs against us.

That's ridiculous

Should only be able to forfeit your lowest grade and work your way up

Eg if your 1st team forfeits that means that you forfeit all grades

Westies 166, Trav, Justin and Kershaw all making 30's, Aaron Sebastyn picking up a 5 fa, Craigmore 2/36 at stumps, wouldn't have thought Dunny would've opened generally and Hobby went in as a night-watchman, very evenly poised, rests in Dyl's hands with no Travis Gebauer.
I'm backing Daniel Foran to get a 40 odd too.

Gardens limped to 150 after being 8/79, Marsden and McConnell scoring 30's and Dowling's 2 from 44 balls was pivotal, young spinner Jayden Forrester picked up 7/36 for the Vale, Vale 0/14 at the close of play, you'd think they'll run them down.

Eastern Park scored 285 against Virginia, Tucker's tonned up, a few 3 fa's for Virginia but nothing to write home about, I think they have enough but you never know with Virginia.

Someone on FB was sooking about the bylaws thinking it was fairer to drop the players down to the B's to get a game in, it made no sense.

Interesting finish coming up in Grade 3 between Enfield & One Tree Hill.

OTH rolled Enfield for 103 pretty comfortably, then appeared to be cruising to victory before a spirited finish had the Goats 6/86 at stumps - still 17 runs in arrears.

Was a little fortunate they were able to knuckle down though, apparently had a couple players leave early so only had 8 wickets in the shed - two more poles and innings would've been over.

Also interesting they have Lister coming back this week, but his week one player has already been dismissed so they miss out on their best bat getting a hit.

Grade 2.

The Pines had a day out against Owenfield as they belted 260 thanks to Nuske (75) and Freeman (59), Big Johnny made 46 as the visitors are 6/76 in reply.

ATCO managed 186 against a Keylock-less Royals outfit, Abraham Darlow collected 4 wickets for the Royals in his return match for the club. The Royals are 1/3 in return, it all hinges on BJ but I think the Hornets have enough here.

Dave Ritzema and Scott Bradshaw have led the Units to 9/233 with 67 and 57 respectively, at a guess, Scott has made more runs this season than the rest of his career put together, batting well above his average on the field too. Units to get the cookies, Davey to pick up a 5 fa.

Craigmore posted 245 against the Knights, McMinn managing 82, the home side are 1/58 in reply as the teams are NEK and neck, the Knights for mine. No LB Coxy officiating.

Get Danny out and you're home, should be right early next week as he would've smashed through 3 cones at about 12:45, lucky you had Woolford.

Grade 2 thrown wide open on the weekend.

Pines will win outright over Owenfield to lock away top two and potentially take top spot.

ATCO have thrown a spanner in the works of the Eyre Royals revival - if they can knock them off, you'd think that would end Royals finals hopes, it would also put ATCO in the box seat to avoid relegation.

NEK should chase the runs against Craigmore, especially on their ground and with Mills still to come - he's well overdue for a big score.. if they dont though then Craigmore will slide into 4th.

Units put together a pretty good day Saturday, won the toss and batted the full 70 overs. Paced their innings pretty well, Steve Ritzema set the tone early with some nice drives and his partnership with Kosonen took a bit of sting out our spuds. We dropped/missed a fair few chances in the opening 20 overs though, including dropping S Ritzema twice in the space of a few balls when we was probably on about 15.

I came on and removed Ritzema and Thomas straight up and we had them 4/87 and at tea they were 4/91 off 43 overs - pretty good effort i thought, game in the balance.

Davey opened up after the break though, hit through the air a lot but found the gaps.. as he got going our guys went backwards. Fatigued and tiring in the heat, the last 10 overs went large and Bradshaw cashed in on shit fielding, shit bowling and a little luck.. his 57 came in a hurry when he wound up.

233 off 70 overs.. 142 off the last 27 overs.. around 80 off the last 10 overs.. game over.

Craigmore b grade came back from a shaky start were 4-28 at one point but NEK oval is lightning quick so expect a good run chase. I don't think coxy has ever given an LB in his life. had a few go either way.

He gave a heap one day in a semi at ATCO ages ago and the game nearly turned into an all in brawl, he's never given one since.

Interested in peoples thoughts..

Was having a chat Sat night about people playing in certain grades, or players who feel they've 'earned' their chance to play lower, also that youth should be promoted where possible so you dont have washed up old blokes holding up the higher grades.

Question is, do you think there comes an age when players should begin moving down grades, or purely when ability stops them from doing so? Is there such thing as players "paying their dues" and earning the right to play in a lower grade?

You play your best XI in your A's, unless there's too many all-rounders or you're too heavy in one area, then you look at team balance and blooding youth.

I'd never promote anyone to the A's and bat them lower than 7 if they weren't going to bowl in the first 5 or 6, if we were cruising in a run chase then I'd chuck a kid up the order, I'd always speak them and let them know my plan, mostly it was to expose them bit by bit.

Even when I was past it I stayed in the A's even if I batted last and didn't bowl, we always had all-rounders so there was no point in wasting a kid and it made it easier to run the show excluding myself and only having to satisfy 10 blokes who all rated themselves.

Back in U15's playing for Salisbury Juniors, Scott hit nearly 800 runs in a season, Eight fifty's and 2 century's including a 170!

Your right though he does seem to go ok off the field.
