The top 25% yes, the body size would be the difference though, the smaller girls are often more fluent but get knocked off the ball too easily or thrown around.

The biggest flaw I see from the sidelines is fluency in kicking, most girls drop the ball from too high, use both hands or slow down too much when kicking on the run.

The endeavour, desire and want for the ball is there and most aren't scared to get hurt.

I didnt watch any of the games until yesterday and wasnt that interested TBH but flicked it over during a break in the cricket and the Roos/Carlton game was excellent and then followed up with a cracking Freo/Melbourne game (Freo women kicked a higher score than their mens team did 8 times in 2018)

IMO there was a noticable difference in ball movement and skill level, finally saw some outside run and teams much better structured.

Maybe the teams that played yesterday are the better teams in the comp though as the scores looked horrid in teh other games I didnt see

I see they have two conference's, I'm not sure what that's in aid of?

And 4 more teams joining in 2020, seems very BBLish

Thought that would be the case, a lot of the new draftees are coming in & making a difference & don't look to out of place which suggest the step up isn't all that great.

Agree with the flaw you mentioned there. I watched most of the Cats V Pies game & the amount of smothers & run downs from behind when the girls had enough time to kick frustrated me immensely.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Do they have a "Match Centre" so we can see the player stats?

Yeah i heard that yesterday on "Womens Footy" a tv show that was on, said they have the conferences then go straight into two prelims with the winners squaring off in the GF.

So Saturday C7 had the Test during the day, AFLW in the afternoon and night and Fox had the BBL on.

You wonder why all of them are down on crowds, you can't be in two places at once!

No wonder I downed 6 or 7 pints at the pub in the afternoon and then polished off a slab in the evening cooking a BBQ for my step-sons birthday.

Sunday was torment, had to load, unload and distribute half a ton of top-soil for my back lawn.

Could the AFLW work concurrently with the AFL season? Schedule double headers at grounds - Women followed by Men?

Surely that would help give them greater exposure?

Its seems like the better option. Even if people don't go for the womens game, the early arrivals for the mens game will be there.

You never know. They might like it and come earlier next week too.

The AFL wont wanna waste potential tickets with all the support staff etc. that the AFLW teams will require.

So what you're saying is the AFL needs the mens comp separate so they can financially hold up the womens comp? :P

7830 for Adelaide v Bulldogs AFLW match at Norwood Oval on the weekend, double the biggest SANFL crowd at Norwood Oval last year and you're not even close.

Unfortunately for the SANFL they don’t have the luxury of having the AFL cover all the admission costs
