Yesterday Stableford. 32 points, 1 Scrub and 30 putts.

Just couldn’t get anything going, wet glove, wet grips constant drizzle with a couple of heavy down pours just a shitty morning all round really at least the course got a much needed drink.

Pennants today at Sandy Creek I Lost 4 and 3 the side lost 7-1, they are a very strong side.

Played a very solid player, hit every green in reg, yep everyone of them! I just couldn’t go with him in the end. I was 5 down early needed a birdie and a good par to win 2 holes in a row.

In the end the I’m off 12 and he is off 7 and that was about the gap between us.

Course in terrible condition. Dry as and greens full of desease no way I’d be paying nearly $1400 for fees out there.

Anyone played Victor recently??

I did see on their website they charge $100 water levy

Which as much as it is disappointing they need to charge, its great that they are upfront about it.

Wondering how dry it might be down there

Fascinating, a guy I played with last week commented on how good the fairways were, albeit a tad dry but the greens were perfect?? He had only played up there 3 weeks ago or so.

My Saturday consisted of getting up, bit achy in the lower back.
Worked up a sweat on the couch as I watched the seniors.
Got to golf, didnt feel too bad.
Lasted 9 holes and back home to bed with a fever with hot/cold sweats.
Strangely enough I hit the ball ok...
Booo to feeling shit on a golf day

Fairways were extremely dry but as stated really bad decease’s on most of the greens they were terrible

Even the Sandy Creek lads were saying it’s the worst they’ve seen them.

Great club rooms tho.

Stableford.
Beautiful morning out on a dry Thaxted.
Hit the ball very well for the most part.
Hit a few nice long drives
Sank some very decent length putts

Endes up with 35pts
2 x 1s and 2 wipes a few pars and a birdie

Actually felt like a golfer!!!! :D

The best part is you’ve played your sport for the week and now you can have a beer. Meanwhile I’m in the cricket change rooms about to start the warm up for 80 overs in the field! You are the smart one mate!

Stableford yesterday.

37 points, no scrubs and 26 putts.

2 birdies, a few pars, putted ok but I was very happy to score on 2 holes after hitting one OFB and the other in the water.

37 points takes me down to 11.4

Pennants today. Regency Park at home.

I won 3 and 2. Team won 5/3

Played a solid round nothing outstanding but very consistent and that’s all you need to do in match play.

I did hear two Blokes in our C grade winning 10/8!

Started on 10th, horror drive sliced onto the 1st. Then after 2nd shot found myself down by the 16th green. Hit a tree and came back to me. Pick up, move on...
11th, narrowly missed par putt. 2pts
12th hit what i thought was a nice putt.....kept going and going but still got 2pts in the end
13th shanked a 6i into the dry dam. Attempt to hit out, ended up in the long grass just at the top, great stance, felt like tee ball. Next shot then went borderline of the hazard left. Get there and no chance of a shot....pick up.
14th tried to caress the baffler....bang left, hazard. Found it, but again pick up move along. The new OOB rule really needs to be implemented, especially for this hole. You drift slightly right, which a guy in our group did, not a vicious slice, ends on the path but its OOB. **** joke.
15th - par 3, job done for par. 2pts
16th - drive went left. Lovely punch out. Shanked the chip....
17th - drove a tight line, ended in a hazard.....absolutely no shot anywhere. Pick up move on...
18th - baffler off the tee, pulled it. Got lucky hit a tree and on fairway. Then shank into hazard. Awkward lie. Pick up.
6pts there

1st - worm burner drive. Down the middle. Lovely. Then pulled the baffler again and ended up on the left rough of the 10th fairway, not far from where I was....probably 100m, hit a cracking 56w onto green, 2 putt par.
2nd - another up and underish drive with hybrid. But left myself 100m and on in 2. 2 putt par.
3rd - as with the picture above. Got my hybrid, hit a low runner, initial thought it was narrow and gonna end up in sand....but luckily just enough out to the left....no idea what happened to it once it got past the false frontage of green. Was a pleasant surprise....birdie. and in the 2s so a bonus.
4th - baffler, started it down the right side and with both the draw and slope, ended left trees. Hit a lovely 7i low punch shot around a gum that ran onto the green, 2 putt par.
5th- driver, pulled it a tad, hit trees left and ended 4th fairway. My low punch shot thru the trees, hit a tree and went backwards. 177m from green, hit the hybrid flush, pin high, right rough. Chip and a putt for 5
6th, wiped this hole, mainly cos my putt for a point was with my SW, which i gave it a good roll, just not right line.
7th - hybrid, played it a tad back in the stance to keep it low, hitting into solid breeze and absolutely creamed. Ended with 2 putt bogey, par putt just didnt catch the edge...
8th hole, nothing of note. 2 putt bogey.
9th - front left bunker for 2, my chip out from the trees just kept running. Bunker shot, collected all ball and flies out to the path...pick up.
Back 9 was 18pts

Has anybody got there young kids playing golf, like junior competitions and things like that, my daughter has been involved in clinics and academy lessons for a while but never played other kids, just when I’ve taken her out for fun is about the only time she gets on the course and I can’t find a great deal of info on the net besides the mid north junior academy, who happen to have all three tournaments on the sundays I work.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, her current club doesn’t appear ready to hold regular junior comps.

She is 7 going on 8 if any one knows of anything,

Probably still a bit young I think.

Have a look on the SAGA website, I think you will find some junior info there, and specifically look for regional content.

My lad played a bit of junior golf, pennants that type of thing but not until the later years of Primary School, so more like 10, 11 & 12.

I know there are SAPSSA events for older primary age kids. Took my lad to one of those when he was playing and he played the group in front of that Italian kid from Grange, who is now a pro, can't remember his name just now. He was about my lads age, and his golf bag back then was bigger than him. But he could hit a golf ball! Needless to say he won the event

Just shows how hard it is to make it at golf, he was meant to be the next big superstar, and playing like a dog these days. So many good young golfers in Adelaide like Matt Lisk off plus 4 or 5 handicap, and cant compete with top 80 around Australia, there are 20 to 30 Lisk/ Murdacas in NSW alone!
