He had mass walk out from his Assistant coaches last year, ended the season doing it all by himself.

Said he was going to change his ways as treats his staff like shite, obviously this has not happened!!

It’s not perfect but it’s better than changing 10 rules every year

Interpretation of rules change constantly with umpires/umpire coaches.

One week what’s holding the ball the next week isn’t.

It’s more about game style.

Norwood are the classic example since Bassett/warren days compared to now.

More attacking games of footy like this years sanfl gf is only going to help the league imho. We will always have variables in footy that’s just how it is.

If you make it 100 points for the bonus point it’s a)consistent b) no interpretation required

Certainly worth a trial

Dare I say the reason that you play in the first instance.

Higher scoring does not equate to better football. Give me a tight contest any day, regardless of the score.

Hypothetically DOC south win 9 games and score over 100 points in 3 games in a season. ( 21 points)

Miss out on finals to sturt who won 8 games but scored over 100 points 6 times (22 points)

I’m pretty sure SAFC when reviewing their season is going to suggest they need a higher scoring game plan implemented for next season.

Yet again the control is with the club/coaches not a sub committee changing the rules every year.

Win win imho

Don’t change the rules just change the reward system and let the coaches work out the issue of their teams lack of scoring problem.

I'm not sure if this is your original idea UK, but if you thought of it you deserve the Nobel.

I’ll happily take a carton but up to you :-)

A club could lose more games yet make a top spot , top 3 or a finals spot. Wont happen.

Teams have missed top 3 places and making finals in the past due to percentage. Which doesn’t necessarily encourage higher scoring.

You’ll get a better reward percentage wise winning a game 80-50 than you will 110-100.

But what’s better for the league??

Yet again we are talking about rewarding those who are higher scoring. As opposed to changing 10
Rules year in year out in an attempt to create higher scoring.

This way is simpler and gives the power back to the clubs/coaches/players.

However, if you were going to go the bonus point it should be for scoring twenty goals so as to reward accurate kicking.

I thought about that scenario RB but a team that wins a game of footy 19.21(135) to 20.8(128).

You couldn’t reward the losing team and not the winner.

More scoring not straighter kicking is the goal.

But I understand where you are coming from

So get rid of percentage then to eradicate the effect of weather conditions from the competition.

The original intention of the whole interchange was to harmonise the flow of the game. This was then wound back to cap the interchange because the defensive flood was causing defensive play resulting in low scores. We have interchange stewards counting rotations, the crowd on the sideline has no idea. Recently several other rules are introduced to harmonise play which require umpires interpretation.

Get rid of the lot, and introduce the UK rule i.e. if you win with a score in excess of 100 points, bonus point. Simplicity.

Thats it though, weather conditions have no impact on percentage.

People think that high scoring games are automatically good games of footy, not the case.

1. They do
2. Its the word "automatic" that lends credence to your statement. Bet you loved the record score against Centrals though.

I am surprised by that. I would have thought that they were too close in age to be father and son. Mark Stone is 51, George Stone would be mid to late 60s I would have thought.
Not saying that they aren't father and son, I just have never seen it reported anywhere.

That said, I think you are correct.
