Valente, Sayers and Pope out.

Yeah, Pope was woeful against Tassie, shouldn't have retained his spot.

So only one actual change based on performance

Sayers injured and Pope wasn't even in the team. It was all Valente's fault I guess

One more change than expected at least!

Pope to play. He's young/raw but the best available. Valente out.

McInerney dropped for Smith.

Then someone in for Cooper to bat at 6 - Jake Winter, Brad Davis, John Dalton... anyone. Tom Kelly even.

Also Lehmann to go back to 5, Head and Ferguson 3 & 4.

Apart from that unchanged

Kelly has not even made a 1st Grade century, no chance.

Dalton been horribly out of form all year, century in One day GF very overdue.

Davis and Winter both failed in last Second X1 game.

Not many options.

Signing Patrick Page Jnr to three year deal when only 16 contracts available another Nielsen stuff up!

Bet they stick with the same six, Siddons has too much faith.

And they way he talked about Pope and the Dukes ball, can't see him playing, especially at WACA.

Now, maybe I'll get caught out with examples, but it seems over the years we throw a lot of grade cricketers straight into the fire, into the top three. The best will handle it, but it seems we burn through a few, and perhaps we should tack a different tack and try easing them in at six and expect more responsibility from teh senior players.

Yep, totally agree, spot on.

Many great batters started out at Number 6, Ponting and Clarke to name a couple when they debuted for Australia.

We don't like spin do we?

Batting first again when we've got 4 quicks. Makes it difficult.

Interesting letter to the editor in the Sunday Mail this morning. Points out that we're heading for our 10th wooden spoon in 19 seasons, which means that during that time we've won more spoons than the five other states combined.

Tom O'Connell has played 1st Grade cricket all season in Victoria. Has taken 19 wickets at 31.

Three Futures League games. 54 overs 0/218.

Early days but it seemed a risky move when he was settled and going so well here.

Can this Redbacks side ever lose just one wicket without another in quick succession?

Similar letter in Advertiser on Thursday, calling for head of Nielsen and Siddons.

They must be under the pump.

Nielsen responsible for giving contracts, gave Patrick Page a three year deal. Rumour they are going to pay out his third year next season as with only 16 contracts they need the spot. He has had terrible year, skin folds of 120 which is fat, one of Nielsens many stuff ups.
