We got no value for him, whatever we paid.
Without knowing all the facts, surely 5 or 10k is better than nothing?
I heard he may be out at the Bay again - unconfirmed albeit.

I wouldn’t let him to an opposition club go for little money, why give him another leg up

Him returning might have been the plan, play SANFL for us or don’t play SANFL at all

IF it is true they knock back 30k and was so bad it is just a very very dumb move. If he was such an issue they should be taking the $$$$ and saying thanks. Doesnt make sense .

Norwood footballer Josh Glenn under investigation by Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority
March 1, 2019 8:06am

SANFL star Josh Glenn is under investigation by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority for allegedly testing positive to a performance-enhancing drug last season.

The 24-year-old Norwood midfielder remains on the club’s list but from August he has made himself unavailable for selection and not trained since, citing personal reasons.

ASADA investigations remain confidential until the governing body has determined if a violation has been committed.

Glenn’s case is yet to be decided.

An ASADA spokeswoman said the organisation could not “comment on any possible anti-doping investigation” under its legislation and the World Anti-Doping Association code.

Norwood and the SANFL declined to comment on the allegations.

Glenn, who played five AFL games for Gold Coast in 2015, did not return calls from Messenger Community News.

Glenn joined Norwood last year and went on to play 10 games, kicking 21 goals and being named in the club’s best players three times.

He polled three Magarey Medal votes in round five after kicking eight goals against his former team, Central District.

His most recent game was the round 16 clash against the Bulldogs in August.

Glenn missed the following two matches – Norwood cited the flu as the reason for his absence – before the Redlegs announced he had made himself unavailable for selection.

In October, Glenn received a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to an aggravated charge of recklessly causing harm.

Glenn had broken the nose of an Australian Defence Force employee when repeatedly punching him after he was kicked out of the Gawler Exchange Hotel in March last year.

He had begun the season with Barossa, Light and Gawler football club Willaston, which dumped Glenn after the assault incident.
He joined Norwood a month later.

Glenn was playing for division four amateur club Elizabeth in 2012 before starring for Central District over the next two seasons then getting rookie-listed by Gold Coast.

He quit the Suns and returned to SA in 2015, citing homesickness, then played for Willaston in 2016 and Central again in 2017.

I think you will find it was more about body image then performance.

I still tip my hat to Willaston FC, made a tough call that I dare say many SANFL or AFL Club’s wouldn’t have.

Supreme talent yes, but to have the pub incident (under the influence of a substance?) and this ASADA issue within 12 months of each other shows he is battling with some demons

Hindsight is wonderful, would Norwood have recruited him for the 10 games he played? Wonder what difference he could have made in the GF?

I thought I heard he wasnt wanted back at the club ? He seems a bit of a risk and the 30k might be what is needed for the GFC. Sounds interesting .

No club in their right mind would pay the $30k transfer for him.

Sturt were always going to want that $25k, every club in the same boat would. Other clubs talking to him knew it would end talks pretty quickly
