Country Football Match Day Programs

Postby Bag & Sledge » Mon Oct 10, 2016 2:13 pm

Was wondering what people's thoughts are on their own local Association/League's Match Day Program?

I've seen a few and the River Murray Budget is easily the most impressive, they have players height/weight and former clubs listed very much like the SANFL Budget information. Also has comprehensive netball write ups. A great read

The Yorke Peninsula Budget needs a makeover. Their teams are hardly ever up to date and some teams include their A-Grade and B-Grade in the same list with Players numbers rarely correct. Never have I seen any coaches quotes.

The Great Southern is good, standard match day program with no netball in there however it makes it hard when netball is played at different venues during finals.

Barossa Light & Gawler Football Association along with the North Eastern (The Barracker which is also online) are good, lots of information along with a Rookie of the Year and Coaches Trophy awards. Also has a comprehensive netball write up with coaches quotes etc

Far West is also very good, however its just A4 paper stapled together it had plenty of information along with Netball included. Very in depth program.

Spencer Gulf from this season isn't too bad - a lot better than what I remember of one that I was given years ago.

Riverland was interesting. I remember the little A5 ones with the red banner but got one from this year that is a glossy A4 edition with some colour inside it as well.

MSEFL, KNTFL, BLG, Hills and NE aren't too bad.

Mallee does the job, but the font is shocking compared to the past.

Yorke Peninsula hasn't changed in at least 10-15 years and I agree need a fresher look, as does the Western Border, which hasn't really changed since the 1980s apart from a glossy colour cover.

Never seen a home and away edition from Great Southern - thought they only did finals.

Sorry slightly off topic but chasing any Hills programs prior to 2007 the older the better. If people don't want them any more.

I see that over the summer, five of the six suburban leagues in Melbourne have decided not to print football records anymore from this season, with most having an online version instead and one dispensing with theirs altogether. Only the Amateurs will run with printed editions this year.

Most of the Victorian country leagues will still produce them thank goodness.
