I'd love to have a bowler of Jaspreet Bumrah's quality in Australian colours.

Fascinating to see how players handle their opportunities to play in the WC.

No one built on their starts subsequently the team total is about 40 short of where it needed to be. However 3 of the Top Six get pass marks today... Uzzie Maxie and Stoinis although the latter seems out of sorts as he adapts to a new role up the order. It must be killing him to let Shankhars cherry ripe half volleys pass thru to the keeper. Conversely he wld have been great in those last 10 overs.

Not sure Handscomb gets a game in the best line up unless he keeps. Finch is shot and I will wait b4 passing judgement on Turner.

Stoinis batting too high, he's natural number 6.
I just read on cricinfo that their were 28 overs worth of dot balls! Thats insane.

Wouldn’t be getting a game because he isn’t 6’6 with the perfect action.

Bowlers toiled hard but it's the same old story, just not enough runs to worry the Indians.

Not many if ever better alrounders than him.
His record is second to no one.

Jesus, Carlton win a JLT match and now you're Amber Almighty?

Yes, Kallis is in a class of 2 with Gary Sobers

Imran Khan was pretty handy.

Statistically Kallis and Sobers streets in front of Imran and Kapil Dev.
But all 4 were sensational players although I didn’t see Sobers play.

i did see plenty of Sobers play and he was in a class of his own. The players most like him I would say are Lara as a batsman, Mitchell Johnson as a pace bowler, at least as good a left arm orthodox bowler as Vettori and the best left arm chinaman bowler I have seen. Plus he was the most brilliant fieldsman.

With Kallis, great though he was, I think of the old adage, there are lies, damn lies and statistics. Kallis wasn't in the same league as Sobers and I would have had Imran in my team before Kallis.

Ian Chappell is adamant there have only been four true all rounders in the history of test cricket, Jack Gregory, Keith Miller, Sobers and Imran Khan.

In Chappell's view, to be a true all rounder you have to good enough at either discipline to be able to be chosen just as a bowler or a batsman. I guess that is where Imran makes Chappell's 4 because he in fact did play solely as a batsman when too injured to bowl. this occurred in the 1992 World Cup where Imran played a very heady innings when Pakistan looked to be in all sorts of strife.

I dare say Kallis would make any team as a batsmen.
But anyway what is the point of these pointless 20 and one day games...

But maybe not as a bowler 292 wickets at 32.65 sr/ 69.2 going on stats

Andre Nel is the only fringe pacer I can think of at the moment 36 tests - 123 wickets at 31.86 sr/ 62
Edit. Nantie Hayward 16 tests - 54 wickets at 29.79 sr/ 52.2

Kallis not being a complete physco gets in before Nel = all rounder
Dave Warner will be missed!

Reward for effort. Zampa’s bowled better than his figures suggest.
Then gets Jhadav & Dhoni in 2 balls...
Need to put the foot on the throat and hold them under 230.
