And wins wouldn't include games where we took first innings points in a draw in the days when that system was in place. I reckon Carlton and Freo would trump these numbers relative to the number of games in an AFL season and that's just comparing with one other sport.

The amount of times that we were in a winnable position but failed is the alarming aspect.

Would like to see Jake Winter and Kelvin Smith be picked - both made nearly 1000 runs this year.

Keeps picking the same top six batters - season over, try something different.

Bowlers spots up for grabs too with several injuries.

Winter and Smith, hopefully not for Futures but SS :)

Davis seasoned cricketer, should be in the mix.

Yep, was referring to Shield team (they would definitely play Futures!).

May go David Grant, or Valente again.

Futures bowling may be bit weak then also.

Bowling stocks getting a bit slender. Richardson away, Worrall injured, Sayers injured. Valente looked fairly ineffective in his last Shield game.

Spencer Johnson is back bowling but a bit sore by all accounts? After being out for so long I doubt he'd cope with a four day game (Futures or Shield)

That leaves Mennie and Winter (locks). Luke Robins you'd think would get another go.

Other pace bowlers in the squad: Opie and Grant. Either of those could come into calculations I guess.

Could Ben Pengelley have a crack as a No 6 batter / 4th seamer?

Or we could actually play a spinner; Andrews, Pope or Cormack. Would Tom O'Connell be playing Shield cricket now had he stayed?

Future's selection? Turley I doubt. Benton only just back from injury himself and maybe not interested anymore. Would Tim Oakley get a look in? Has had a great year. Pluck one of the Under 19s like Josh Pengelley or Corey Kelly?

Heard they may have finally made a big call and dropped Cooper and Ferguson.

Lehmann obviously has photos of Siddons to survive!

Replaced by Kelvin Smith and Brad Davis.

Elliott Opie also been included.

Had to happen I guess but a shame for Ferg. Just has had a shocker this season.

Hopefully Smith and Davis take their chance. Couldn't have done much more in grade cricket. Are in form, have to deliver.

According to Sir Swamp on twitter (the best stats man) Fergie has the most losses in Sheffield Shield games with 58.

Is this the end of Coops & Fergie? I would say yes for Coops but not Fergie. I've been a Fergie basher at times but he's defs still in our best 1 Day line up & probably Shield team despite his age.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Tas batting for the draw

McDermott is 1* of 68 balls

No Redbacks player could do that

Ferg surely isn't done, he still is in our best XI last game of the year he might have a part in himself being omitted, he seems to be a bloke that would do that.

Cooper must be done now.

I suspect next season to have a few new face, im calling richo to leave the state (not getting a gig in 4 day here anymore might just go into just a short form player) no cooper. no ross

Can we get our first win of the season? And 3rd in the last 21 games?

Hmmmmm.... no.

But I'll be glued to the stream anyway. Andrews in, Opie 12th. Davis on debut. Smith in.

Renshaw gone for a duck. Winter hooping them
