Wouldve had to come from the top order because the bottom looked like they were picking up a bat for the first time.

Yeah all clubs in Stanley struggle for depth

Most clubs have a top 4 of ATCA turf div 1, district b grade or higher players and then it drops off dramatically

At the test weekend bye the A1 ladder is;

Lower North 11
Brinky 8
Clare 7
Sevenhill 7

Watervale 5
Blyth 3
Auburn 1

Well done to Brinky to be 2nd after forfeiting early in the season.

Can't see the top 4 changing

In the A Grade, Brinkworth the only team who is any threat to Lower North IMO

You have had the better of Brinky during the season so anything is possible!

Not sure I agree with the association’s ruling regarding teams progressing in finals when games are called off due to the heat etc. Surely they could play the games on the Sunday or push the finals back a week.

We are on the wrong end of it this week and I’m use to playing Sunday finals but I think the current rule is better than half strength teams playing on a Sunday if that were to be the case.

In saying that I do believe we would have still been at full strength had games been moved to the Sunday.

Sevenhill vs Brinkworth should be a cracker this week.

Sevenhill have had the edge over Brinkworth in their two meetings this year but in fairness to Brinkworth they haven't been 100% at full strength.

We are definitely confident our best is good enough to win but no denying Brinkworth have the individual talent to win this game for sure.

Blood pumped that's for sure, despite fighting man flu at the moment.

GF: Lower North vs Sevenhill @ Sevenhill

This should be a cracker. Undefeated and having beat Sevenhill comfortably on both occasions this year Lower North Head into this as clear favourites.

The Lower North opening partnership will hold the key, the competitions two leading run scorers and not having been dismissed for an opening stand of less than 68 in the two meetings between the sides.

The positive for Sevenhill is in the first meeting this year they were missing their leading run scorer Dopson and leading wicket taker Inglis. On the second occasion were missing talented number 5 bat, gun fielder and handy part time bowler Catford. Sevenhill also have a good home record this season only losing the one match at home against Lower North by 60 runs.

Pretty excited for this one!!!

Did Lower North elect to play the match at Sevenhill? Not that I disagree with it, loved playing cricket there.

No

The league changed the rule and every club had to pick there top 3. First held the A1 final, second held the A2 final. Sevenhill was voted the best.

I think ultimately the league wanted the final to be held more central to most clubs to try and generate more neutral interest.

We have benefited this year but tbh it’s a pretty shit for Lower North who rightly would be pissed.

I'd imagine it would have been their second choice behind Balaklava anyway, so I don't think they'd be too worried about it.

We elected to play grand finals at Long Plains and Sevenhill over Balaklava in the past, but never against Sevenhill hahaha.
