Can the wings start defensive side of the centre square?Armchair expert wrote:6-6-6 rule could lead to some interesting set-ups in the middle late in the game.
Could lead to teams trying to win the game not defend the lead.

Winger would push around once ball bounced and a half forward push up to the wing.

i prefer the 4-4-2 set up, but that is soccer and only soccer should have set ups like that... Maybe we should bring in sticks like hockey and a hoop on the side of the ground which you get ten points if you get it in there... Certainly mix it up a bit...

No, they need to start on the wing.
Also, when there's an infringement in the centre square at the ball up and a free kick is paid the players need to remain or return to the 6-6-6 formation until the kick is taken. Hasn't been happening in the JLT as players and umpires adjust but will happen in season proper.
So, ball bounced and the players get into motion, free kick in the ruck and we wait for everyone to return. Not a fan of that part but it does give the side with the ball massive space forward of centre.

That is what I'm getting at the plus 1 will now be the winger can either go in D50 or play sweeper behind the centre bounce (which mostly happens in General play anyway)Dutchy wrote:Booney wrote:heater31 wrote:Armchair expert wrote:6-6-6 rule could lead to some interesting set-ups in the middle late in the game.

They can start on the defensive point of the square though (where the boundary umpire's stand) and from there run straight into defensive 50 so unless there is a very quick and clean centre clearance there will be at least a plus 1 back there.
