The Port Adelaide Magpies Football Club. The club was then abolished in 2012 as part of the one club re-unification.

Wait...so where's the history from?

And they were murdered in 1996, reborn in 1997 and murdered again in 2012?

And it wasn't always "One Club"?

The history of the Port Adelaide Football Club dates back to 1870.

As for use of the term "murder" . At the time of moving to the AFL, the PAFC were content with leaving the SANFL competition altogether, but it was the SANFL who created the PAMFC to have a Port Adelaide presence in the local competition. The one club unification of 2012 was the best way to fix the mess that was created 15 years prior.

Call it murder, it concerns me little. If the transition into the national competition was handled as intended, there would be little debate.

You’ve got it round the wrong way.
The Magpies weren’t created by the SANFL as they already existed.
The Power was created and then entered the AFL

Did the club trade under the same name or was a new entity setup?

It was a bulls up from the start and history since hasn’t made the history any clearer. ;)

It depends on which side of the fence you’re looking at it.

Lets just all agree that Port Power were a brand new club, that did more to hinder the Magpies than help, until both teams were struggling on and off the field and decided to combine for the first time in 2012....and be done with it.

Who's the dickhead that brought this shit up again?

But South Melbourne Southerners became the South Melbourne Bloods or Bloodstained Angels and then the Swans Football Club and then the Sydney Swans and they're the same mate, so, you know, that's different.
