Yep.
It’s how much you get paid that is the issue, not how often.

Don't really have a good enough answer to be honest
Just has never worked for me when i've tried - too many variables that come up that you dont really plan for.

Say you get paid $3200/mth.
Put it all in an account.
On payday (lets say Monday) take $800, leaving $2400 in the holding account, pay your weekly bills, have the rest as spending money.
The following Monday, take $800, leaving $1600 in the holding account, pay your weekly bills, have the rest as spending money.
The following Monday, take $800, leaving $800 in the holding account, pay your weekly bills, have the rest as spending money.
The following Monday, take $800, leaving $0 in the holding account, pay your weekly bills, have the rest as spending money.
The following payday, get paid. Rinse and repeat. You now get paid weekly.

How hard could it be?
Sick kid, sick pet, car troubles, unexpected bill, kid needs shoes unexpectedly or an excursion.

I've done it that way for the last 13 years, going through joblessness, sick animals, unexpected bills, etc and have never failed to pay anything.
You're getting the same amount per month, just at different times. I would think getting paid monthly and managing it yourself would be better, not worse.

Yup, especially when you have kids/dependants.
Examples:
Ms 15 suddenly springs on you her bus ticket has expired - need to give her money so she can get to work/school or money to recharge her card.
Ms 8 has a birthday coming up.
Ms 8 also has half a dozen friends with birthdays she's invited to.
Ms 15 makes school exchange squad - cost is $200 due in next fortnight.
School fees
School uniforms
Sport fees
Few extras trips running around this week, suddenly need to refill petrol tank a second time.
Ms 15's footy side has a jumper presentation/dinner/season launch at their sponsor - need to help pay for that.
Presentations for sport $$
List goes on and on and on.

How would any of this change if you got paid weekly?
