Good luck to all!

Would think Noarlunga would be pretty pissed if they don't win the flag this year, spent a fair bit of money.

Old Man Emu why would Noarlunga be pissed off this year if they dont win the flag with your assumption that they have spent a fair bit of money? How would you know? Clubs are allowed to spend up to the salary cap limits, and i would have no idea like you if Noarlunga even do that. Maybe the Shoes will be just be pissed off if they dont win the flag as they have put themselves in a very strong position. Maybe worry about Morphett Vale winning a few games this year hey.

I would have thought 8 teams will be pissed off about not winning a flag this year

Hey Shoe Boy I think K Opperman played in the Shoes 2014 Premiership so that would make this his sixth year at the club.

Aldinga coach sarge has walked out today after reaching boiling point from the lack of support from the president

Old Man River, sarge quit after 2 games, he had the full support of the committee and president. He may have used the president as an excuse for seniors lack of success, however retaining players and recruiting was the responsibility of the senior coach not the president. Whilst AFC would love to throw buckets of money at players and upgrading facilities, they simply do not have those resources available to do so, to the same extent other clubs are able to. Sarge changed the culture of the club and he has done a lot of positive things over the past 4+ years. The president addressed the members last night and spoke in glowing terms to what sarge has done for AFC. He was shocked with the resignation and has always acted in the best interests of the club and to assume otherwise is simply an act of ignorance or immaturity

If there is anything you can learn Old Man River is that there are 2 sides to every story and only listening to ones side will leave you misinformed

Ok why does the club have no money specially after the Shane Crawford money making game ? Surely that’s not on the senior coach to ?

Old Man River, the club was in a lot of debt at the time of the Crawford game. The majority of the money was used to pay off the debts. Since then (6years ago) the prices of almost everything has gone up. For example the cost to keep the lights on for any club or business has sky rocketed since that time. I refer you to an article in the local paper about how Porties were in the same dilemma.. it's not the club has no money, it has less money than that of the bigger clubs in the SFL and the clubs in the Aldinga area. Player retention and recruiting was not hampered by a complete lack of money, there was a player budget implemented and obviously that would not compare to the other larger clubs.

Yes all clubs have the same salary cap, that doesn't mean that each club has the same player budget. AFC player budget is well under the salary cap. Not hard to understand if you think logically

Great result but surely this wouldn’t have come cheaply? Witch gets back to why was the money not acceptable for the previous coach as they didn’t have money to fill the safety cap?
