He took over as the coach for season 2016

2016
7-15
Avg for 71
Avg against 90

2017
6-16
Avg for 72
Avg against 93

2018
2-20
Avg for 62
Avg against 104

2019
0-3
Avg for 70
Avg against 93

From the middle of 2017 they are 5 wins and 29 losses, they've gone backwards in scoring and are giving up more to the opposition yet Carlton fans keep getting asked to be patient, it's coming.

How long does he have, realistically?

4 years I'd say.

He took over a complete mess. Good on him for sticking it out this far.

4 more years after this year?

Maybe. Who knows

-18 consecutive games of scoring less than 80 points.
Not great reading for Carlton fans

I'd use the term coach very loosely. The last 2 minutes were some of the worst structures i've seen. When players are in the wrong spots to me that's all coaching. Poor skills are players but structures are coaching. Gold Coast very lucky they played Carlton as they would've lost to any other side. One of the worst games i've ever seen. As a Carlton supporter i have been patient for a 15 year rebuild, but im done with Bolton. Hopefully the club does something about it before we lose Cripps.

Thomas and McGovern were the two blokes on the back of the contest and neither of them were back on the line. That's not good enough from two blokes who should know better. It's lazy.

If the ball goes through post height, 10 rows back, you can't do anything about that, but a scrappy contest with huge numbers around the ball 20m out there's always the possibility of the grubber out the pack.

You won't lose Cripps, he's got quality leadership written all over him, more of a chance you burn him out than see him walk.

Disagree on Cripps.
Family in Perth, Eagles to have a fair bit of cap room coming up in the next few years and I’d be surprised if they didn’t have a real crack. If there isn’t any real improvement over the next couple of years he will walk IMO

did the 6-6-6 structure have any affect on those said structures??? I didn't see the game. Dropping players back after a bounce is impossible now...

Not at that moment, there had been a few minutes with no goal so pretty much every player was in one half. The 6-6-6 helped us win a clearance with 10 seconds left only for Murphy to try and dribble kick from 40m out.

Stats mate.... for us they mean nothing. Three years ago Silvagni said something like "we can keep topping up and finish mid table or we can start again and do it properly". We're doing it properly but our supporters need patience.

We've come from a long way back and anyone inside Carlton or close enough to listen to the people inside know that we were years behind the 17th club. We were the last to have permanent recruitment staff, last to have permanent scouts, last to have permanent fitness staff. We took the entire thing for granted.

Stupid? YES!

But now we're turning it around. It takes time.

Yes, we're not going well at the moment but under Bolton we have a plan at least - given that it's driven from the board down and Bolton is just the slave to the ideaology but still, it's better than Malthouse's reign.

We just need time and for everyone to stick together. That's what's happened with Richmond and Collingwood and it's paid/paying dividends.

They were shocking today. We weren't great but they butchered the ball by foot.

No forwards, a team full of midgets and next to no game plan that I can see. They ran over a Hawks side that had no one on the bench for the final quarter but apart from that have looked real poor

U won't lose Cripps I coach a lad who is pretty much best mates with him they went away at the beginning of the year surfing and he said Cripps dead set loves Carlton and has no desire to leave the club. He is a massive fan of Bolton as well. So only way he sees him leaving if he doesn't like the new coach that eventually comes in to take over from Bolton.
