Marks and Bailey retired. Hanson going to coach/play and Jarrett also heading out to Northerns is what I heard.

Duval less than likely to play for Pooraka next season also I heard.

They could be a middle of the table team if any of these rumours are true.

Middle of the table is best case scenario if they lose those blokes.

Only 1-2 younger guys from their 2s with potential to play A Grade, Their best 2 A2 players were 45+yr olds.
Pooraka C2s were all 50+yr olds.
Interesting times at Pooraka if true.

News coming out of Grange is that it sounds like they are pretty pleased to have signed a new coach?
Ex. district player with significant qualifications and charged with ensuring their A grade perform better than the past season.
On big $$$ apparently and begs the question.....Should A1, A2 & A3 clubs have some form of $$$ cap? Unfair for those clubs who cannot generate the $$$ to compete with the others? Or open $$$ slather?

Open slather is fine, promotion and relegation will see clubs move to a grade that suits their budget and/or ability.

Salary cap wouldn't work it would just turn into brown paper bag jobs.
A points system might work, but to be honest Traders post sums it up pretty well.

Its annoying that some clubs get the big recruits because the club has wealthy benefactors.
But hey good luck to them.

Well it won't be difficult to improve on last year's results. They'll need more than one gun player if they want to challenge for the flag.

Isn't that just a watered down version of what you told us back at the start of April:

I have on good authority that all these players will be at Pooraka next season. Duval the only one still up in air.

Suppose it is a watered down version. Just the second time I had heard about it. Especially with cricket season on its way back around again, thought it may have been noteworthy.

Sorry if it seems like I’ve just repeated myself.

All good mate, not a lot of chatter in here anyway so it's not like you're spamming the thread and getting in the way of other discussions.

Keep the insights coming!

BTW, one of you or Sam Sung will owe the group an apology come round 1 haha
