disgrace? cmon mate settle down...
He knew he was on the chopping block and even said so during the week. If he wasnt at the club when the decision was made at selection do they need to drive to his house and tell him? He's not dropped for a grand final...

Selection is done very early in the week, seeing they are at the club every day except Tuesday's there would have been plenty of chances to advise him.

Maybe more words were a bit harsh in saying it was a disgrace. But you would think that bloke who has been in a side for so long a face to face would be alot better. Unless it isn't physically possible to do it to their face, their is no other excuse not to speak to him in person. It's not like they have another job. It's coaching 101.

How do you know he wasn’t informed face to face earlier on in the week and had those discussions about likely being dropped, and it only confirmed over the phone when it was?

Jenkins sounds like an arrogant twat, probably every chance if he was told face to face he wouldn’t have listened or believed anyway.. hence the great disappointment when reality hit.

He's only on $550k from memory, not really overs for a bloke who has kicked 40+ goals 5 years in a row.

Certainly overs for a bloke who has kicked 4 goals in 4 games this year though.

At least he's only contracted for 3 more years.

That's the thing about being a forward, you can be as useful as a dead cat for weeks then kick 5 or 6 and everyone forgets about how pus you were before that, defenders don't get the same opportunities.

Then add on his $4,500 a game on top of that ;) . Approximately $650k per annum for an average player. Not bad coin

True.
How many more years does your Ty have to run on his contract?

If you are a part time footballer that's OK if face to face isn't possible, but for a guy that spends 50-60 hours a week at the club its unacceptable.
