Don’t t care what you think. The crowd was at breaking point with the umpiring and wanted to vent their anger. The crowd was going to boo regardless of who from Collingwood got up there. They are very lucky there was only a few scuffles after the siren, I’m sure there was plenty more afterwards outside the ground.

Lol at Steve Hocking coming out on Tuesday calling for “better treatment” of umpires and imploring supporters to have a “change of attitude” towards them. They then come out & give that performance yesterday...

My $0.02 on the "outrage" after yesterday's ANZAC day game, just remember one AFL player, who will earn more than the 3 field umpires combined this year, made more split second skill errors that had an impact on Essendons chances of winning in the last qtr than the 3 fieldies combined!

In the last qtr Shiel cost Essendon more than the umpires.

jim your booing comment is neither here nor there as boorish behaviour is typical across all sports however your comment on laughing at a Mouthy Collingwood supporter getting his head kicked in is a f***ing disgrace. One punch violence and any violence post footy games is a blight on our sport, all sport and our society, TBH.

Not sure the diggers sacrificed their lives so morons could go and get p!ssed and then punch on at a footy match on their day.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

And the blatant HTB with a minute to go on Stephenson missed (even BT said it was incorrect disposal) but the in the back straight after was picked up.
I too hate Essendon but geez they got screwed over today. Collingwood very lucky.

Once you mentioned BT your argument is lost...

I’m sorry but if you deliberately run into the Essendon members section after the siren and fire off a torrent of abuse at supporters who have just witnessed a gut wrenching loss then you are asking for trouble

Umpires have and will always make mistakes.
It’s part of the game.

Do you honestly believe though that the umpires were given a direction or sat there and discussed they were going to give Collingwood all the 50/50 decisions on the day over Essendon.

Big difference between cheating and coincidental mistakes.

They weren’t 50/50 decisions.
There were 3 occasions where Collingwood players stopped as they knew it was a free against them and the umpires let it go.
Some of the non calls against Collingwood were that blatant that if it isn’t cheating they are blind and shouldn’t umpire another game regardless

Spot on, umpires influence on a game is blown way out of proportion, umpires might make say 5-6 errors across a day, players make 80-100. And guess which ones the coaches can control?

The booing thing has been blown out of proportion also however Buckley has been so impressive the last few years, even admitted last night on the Front Bar he has changed the way he looks at footy/life. He showed great leadership again, Worsfold no-where to be seen.

What is Worsfold meant to do?
I’m not a fan of him but he came out and said that he wasn’t a fan of booing and said he had no idea why the crowd were booing.

Agreed with am bays - sheil was shocking in the high pressure last qtr with mistakes as costly as any ump decision. Perhaps better suited to playing in front of 3k at spotless stadium.

D*ckheads gon' d*ickhead, takes a bigger person to laugh it off and see the bigger picture, than it does to lay him/her on their arse.

Stop changing the rules and make the umpires accountable instead of untouchable and more people will be more tolerant. You've got untouchable umpires who don't appear to be accountable at all and they've got to learn the rule of the week as well. If you want to cut the umps a break Hocking **** off with all the bullshit rule changes and provide the coaches with some guidelines so that they CAN comment on umpires.

I must admit when i first watched the "missed umpire" decision late in the game, my initial thought was he had no prior and wasnt HTB, and was play on.

That’s true.
But to blame the umpires for Essendon’s loss is just crap.

Collingwood were the better team and deserved to win.

Collingwood were the better team for a quarter and a half. Whether they deserve the win or were very fortunate to do so is quite debatable in my view.
