I’ve got him in my draft league. By far my worst player all year.

Need the flat track bully to keep playing bottom sides

You must be pretty bad at fantasy footy if you have Betts :)

Yeah it’s a worry if Carey is having a fantasy about Betts.
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!

The crowds in for the QLD and NSW derbies of 13K and 29K highlight a couple of things.

Gold Coast play before 6K to 8K at times (as they already do) with no hope of getting any more which would be half of what a Tasmanian side would draw and are therefore not as viable. The Gold Coast is a graveyard for sporting clubs.

GWS despite being on the verge of a premiership over the last 3 years still can not get more than 5K to a game in Sydney and when they bottom out will have home crowds as low or lower than the Gold Coast on occasions and therefore are not as viable as a Tasmanian side. Sydney people barely go to the rugby league. Big city but not like Melbourne people when it comes to going to a match.

Give Tasmania a team now.

Absolutely Tasmania should have a team but we are starting to see the benefits of GWS and the Suns already in their areas. The council and governments can’t produce new grounds quick enough on the Gold Coast and Auskick participation is through the roof in SE Queensland and Canberra. By all reports the NSW and QLD U16’s and U18’s have some real talent coming through the ranks

Thats good. Canberra always had a strong league (stronger than Sydneys) due to a large expat population from the football states.

But I'm a believer that as a traditional football state, Tasmania has been very poorly treated. The AFL do sweet FA for SA, WA and Tasmania.

GWS average home crowds 2019 = 13133 (14061 at sydney showgrounds 2games)

GCS average home crowds 2019 = 12148

Would not be out of place in the NRL

Agree, in fact better than some. No NRL side in Sydney averages better than 18.5k (South Sydney) for home attendances and considering they are often playing other Sydney sides says to me they don't have great attendances. TV ratings is the go.

Any takers for Brand, surely we have someone better than him.
Wouldn't be too many in the conversation that are worse than him across the whole AFL
This season is going to get real ugly, lock in a bottom 4 finish.

Jenkins would 5th in line with Carlton's big forwards. Casboult would even be in front of him.
