Adelaide Crows 2019

Talk on the national game

My post is actually word for word your post from the WAFC president thread. He lost his position as president ( a life long volunteer of the club) not just dropped due to ongoing poor form. Most clubs not at AFL level do advise their players face to face about selection as the selectors and players have far more limited time and their paths tend to cross around this, most notably thursday nights. AFL players often get told of selection via phone as well.

No player spends that much time at a club unless receiving extensive rehab.

Really? Haven’t seen anything to suggest he has what it takes.

We all know big men usually take longer, so good luck to him I hope it works out, but have my doubts

Credit where it’s due, the big fella’s gone OK the last 2 games. Jury still out, but he’s shown more than I thought he would already

Shown enough that they can play Jacobs in the SANFL for at least one upon his return.

Looked ok on Saturday but I doubt Billy Longer will ever play AFL again on that performance

Yeah not much opposition in Longer, but Witts the week before was a good performance. Still far from the finished article ROB, but maybe has more chance than I’d thought

Absolutely agree, Witts has been very good this season.

More games they get into him the better he will be

Himmelberg / O'Brien may or may not be the future of Adelaide's ruck / forward combo but either way it's time to find out.

Himmelberg must stay in for the next 3 or 4 to find out what he's made of, he should get a call from Pyke to tell him so much and leave Jenkins to flounder around in the SANFL. Nothing to be gained from bringing Jenkins back in any time soon.

O'Brien is slightly different with Jacobs 4-6 away, he gets his chance by default but he's shown some small signs, albeit, as noted, against a stobie pole on Saturday afternoon.

Not just a big month for Adelaide's new ruck duo in terms of season 2019 but a huge month in terms of their longer term future and the list management of the club.

Should Himmelberg get a call from Pyke or spoken to face to face? ;)

Saw a bit of Paul Hunter in the SANFL the other day, they have invested a heap of time into him also and he looked OK I thought and not far behind ROB.

To be fair St Kilda offered nothing against him and Lobb is a reluctant ruckman at best.

Agreed that he is improving though, but there was only one way he could go and Lycett / Ryder aren't in super from, interesting match up Saturday night.

Keath didn't do much, Hartigan was good in defence.

Himmelberg is two solid games away from Adelaide having a $600,000 liability on their hands.

Keath has come on well. Picked him up fairly cheap and looks to be a ripper. Gotta be happy with that.
