Had a week away over Easter around McLaren Vale visiting breweries etc. Rate the following;

South Coast Beewing at Willunga
Swell at McLaren Vale
Goodisons at McLaren Vale
Forkttee Brewing at Caracklinga
Vale Ale tasting at Beresford Wines at McLaren Flat

Wouldn't go again to

Didn't like the Lizard? ( PS - Shifty Lizard )

Goodiesons Brewery is probably the pick of places, scenery wise.

South Coast left a little to be desired, for mine.

Each to their own. I really enjoyed Shifty Lizard.

Whilst I haven't been to the brewery itself, I had a Swell Amber Ale whilst at the Inglewood Inn on Anzac day. Quite a nice drop, so when I get down south next, I'll visit the Brewery for a sample of their products.

Swell haven't got their brewery installed there yet, but it is a great place for a beer or 2. They have a number of other brewery beers on tap, so a good selection.

Expected to be in taps early June, a chance you may be able to get stubbies by the end of next week.

Cracking night, for $60, outstanding value. Food was exceptional.

Walked in to a can of Pirate Life Port Local or Big Shed Kol Schisel as you stood about.

For Entree sat down to a half wine glass of Pirate Life IPA and Big Shed Californicator.

Entree ( shared platters ) whole cajun prawns, chicken wingettes, singapore noodles, mushroom balls ( looked like arancini )

For mains sat down to a half wine glass of Big Shed Frankenbrown and Pirate Life IIPA.

Mains ( shared ) beef back strap, barramundi, spatchcock, apple slaw, beans in butter sauce, smashed potatoes.

Dessert beers were both black ales brewed for the night.

Dessert was churros, doughnut balls, strawberries and grapes with chocolate dipping sauce.

At the end of each course you voted ( with some small laminted cards on the table into a bucket ) your favourite beer.

Big Shed won 230 odd to 180 off. About 120 people in the room. Big Shed with a nice bribe to the Port Adelaide locals.

One I'll be hanging onto and not drinking. ;) 1870 Prison Bar Pale, which I believe will be available at the club and brewery exclusively in the future.

Sounds like a great night out. Pity it was so far away!
I thought Big Shed would have served up their Dessert beer, but perhaps it may have been sweetness overload with dessert and sent your diabetes through the roof.
