Shiel didn’t stage, there was definite contact but it wasn’t forceful enough to hurt him badly. Free kick and that’s it for me

Brownlow medalists are given a bit of latitude.

I remember one former medalist used to slide in with his knees against opponents on the ground and was rarely infringed.

Gaz is just leaning on his shoulder and patting him on the chest and by the look on Shiel's face, Gaz is farting on him too...

Michael Christian should walk into Gil's office and demand to know why he's bothering doing anything! It's a complete waste of time if he makes an adjudication and gets overturned every week.

Needs to be more definitive then and stop using words like 'usually' when referring to incidents. As soon as he opened his mouth to the media Gaz was a free man.

The bloke from Richmond that elbowed Elliott earlier got a week?
It was a proper elbow as well, so the tribunal got it right.
Forearm, free kick, play on.

If his name wasn't Gary Ablett Jr, there would be zero chance this would have been overturned

Essendon only had to say Shiel was being monitored for concussion and Ablett would be having the weekend off.

He left the ground, chose to bump, hit him high with the forearm/elbow, that all adds up to a week off as explained by Christian and, I'd say most of would agree that meeting those parameters should result in a week off. The impact wasn't severe so he plays this week.

If Michael Christian has any backbone he'd walk away from this gig, I'm not sure how much he gets paid ( it must be handsomely ) because he's merely a puppet for Hocking and the AFL. 3 times this year an "independent" tribunal has over turned his findings.

Why keep doing it?
