I also think the AFL have mixed up the 'Three Strike Policy'

Gablett now has two strikes, he'll go next time...

Much has been made of the umpire's decision to not penalise Rampe for climbing the post, but I haven't seen any commentary on why the umpire didn't award a 50m penalty when Rampe suggested the umpire speaks like a little girl. The AFL judged his comments to the umpire as being 10 times worse than climbing the post, yet the umpire, at the time, didn't deem it worthy of a 50m penalty. Obviously he wasn't offended that much.
Out of interest, did Essendon kick the goal, when Rampe was caught holging the ball?

Actually they are quite the opposite and a lot harder to get bigger crowds.

No need to get upset about. With the dwindling crowd number and their boring style, how long do you reckon before they start talking mergers again??

Point of correction, I recall it was Melbourne were talking mergers, not Hawthorn. Don Scott called BS, and that was that.

In terms of the crowd on the weekend, yep it was shithouse. I can give you all the excuses - Mothers Day, cold & a bit wet, yet another Sunday 3.30pm game - our draw is littered with that timeslot this year. But so what, its happened to other clubs too. Personally I had marked the game as one to go to, but ended up umpiring footy. so I didn't get there. Our supporters are a bit fickle, won't deny that. Perhaps they prefer it when we play another traditional Melbourne team. I don't really know.

Absolute tripe!

1 city, 2 teams, only, heaps of ex pat Vics, and no one goes to NRL. Turn it up Wubs.

I wonder what the goal post fine was called, bringing the game into disrepute would be the only thing I could think of, either way it is pure snot, I would hope the umpire received the same or worse.

At the end of the day, it was cited by the umpire, it wasn't acted upon according to the rules, end of story.

Misconduct apparently.
