The late ins are a killer, you just about need to check AFL teams just before every game nowadays

Good cash generation from Constable though for those who kept him, should have a couple weeks of low BE after today if he holds his spot

18 Honey Badgers 1 5 11977 12499 95.82 4

The top three sides in the league flexed their muscle scoring over 2200 points apiece to maintain their early hold on the upper rungs of the premiership table in season 2019. Benny Rolfs are the clear best team in the competition but no one has told Poony that as both sides extended their unbeaten start to the season to six straight matches. REBCats enjoyed an all too rare win over Hondo to remain a game behind and the 2016 Champions jumped ahead of the logjam of teams at 3-3 after they smashed an out of sorts FISH.

Last years grand finalists smashed out some seriously huge numbers to during the finals last year but Has Been and in particular Honey Badgers have fallen upon hard times in the early part of the season with the Badgers failing to rack up even competitive scores on a consistent basis. Has Been had been (ha ha) batting well but not making runs but they were very poor last week as were a number of sides who failed to crack 2000 last week. As a result our league ranking died in the arse, falling nearly 150 places. Come on lads, lift your game! ;)

I thought Setterfield was out and originally planned to loophole Grundy. No Hately either so I had to trade in yet another Carlton dud or cop a donut. Looked at the obvious Cripps but then I remembered De Boring so it was Lachie's time to shine. :D

Powerful Poon and the Rampaging Rolfs have absolutely leaped out of the box to smash their way to a 7-0 start to the season. This is most unusual at this level as normally the Premier League is a very even competition. Benny has been dominating all year but Poony has reached that level in recent weeks and showed that by topping the scoring for the league in Round 7 with a very impressive victory over a high scoring Richo Richo side. Something else that is usual is that the REBCats are winning games. In past seasons I've lamented (at length LOL) my lack of luck but I've had plenty so far this season. Brouch's freakish upscaling and jagging Whitfield as skipper was a cruel way for Q to get rolled by 21 points. I thought that sort of shit only happened to me Q, sorry mate....not really.

There are now two wins from 3-4 and another two from 4-14 so that logjam is going to mean the heat is on for plenty of coaches on the run into the finals. Surely the top three qualify (mozzes self) which means that a lot of good sides will be spectators come August as you'd expect in Hogg Premier. Richo and Hondo are scoring heavily and this should translate to enough wins to get through. A lot of teams are struggling with scoring and winning consistentcy where some teams don't have that problem at all, in particular Honey Badgers who aren't winning matches or scoring points. Something has to be up there surely. I just hope I get the percentage booster before he looks at his side again, he surely can't be having THAT bad of a season.

I have been absolutely stinking it up the last two weeks. Won the first two rounds but have now lost five in a row. The first couple of losses were really close but the last two weeks I've had some of the worst rookie scores I can remember. Plus I traded into the Hoff 2 weeks ago for scores of 41& 62.

Last two weeks I've had these scores on field:
Atkins 12
Hayes 31
Parker 25
Answerth 26
Gibbons 28
Setterfield 29

That's 6 scores at an average of 25! Horrific. Some seasons you'll go a whole year without getting a score a low as 25 from anyone.

I went with GnR strategy (apart from Brodie Smith) and it's been a slog. All the above players and no players on the bubble to trade in as replacements, meanwhile upgrade opportunities go beckoning.

I went with a few more midpricers so you can upgrade them to premiums when cash generation is a problem. We are all pretty much in the same boat. This year's winner probably had the best squad and selected Stack, Hore, ROB, Walsh, Drew, Dursma and maybe Baker. We pretty much all jumped on Gibbo at 102 but everyone is falling over so plenty still have him. I have Moore, Williams, Dangerfield and M Crouch so I won't be able to move any of my Blue duds on.

Round 8 Preview

What a horrid this round is going to be for everyone who plays this game. With so many premos plus a lot of backup guys out as well people are using trades for donut prevention instead of team building. I've had a squiz at the lineups and I've come to the conclusion that the Sharks are least effected by the carnage this week and Mediocre at Best might as well save the trades and cop the loss even though Twisties have also been heavily effected.

Earlier this week it was asked why have Burgess in your side but if you don't have him you don't have maybe 40 points this week and you could have a bare bench with Moore being unable to switch which really limits you with Williams AND Dangerfield being unavailable. I constructed this really nerdy risk matrix so let's see how effective it is at tipping winners. One thing I can't factor in is trades though.

Longwood Lions are in a good spot to beat Inner Sanctum.
Ecky's Fevolas will upset Hondo who look like they've been more effected by the carnage.
Chicken Twisties have their issues but Mediocre at Best is in more trouble than the early settlers.
Q Before You looks the better option in this ne as Has Been has a Crouch problem.
Sharks are hardly touched by the carnage and will beat Delicious. Seriously who doesn't have Danger?
Buddy Franklin and REBCats evenly matched but Crouch the killer for me so Buddy gets the chocolates.
Richo Richo have the troops to get by the Honey Badgers.
Ben Rolfsburgers will be TEAM_FISH burgers this week. Benny to salute.
Poon Illuminati will get the job done against Captain Who. Groover has a few strange selections in the side.

Normally I'm tipping about 2 out of 9 in Premier when I write these. With my matrix and extensive research I have to be looking at a solid four here. If these results come to pass that would leave two sides two games clear of the rest which I can't recall happening in the Premier League ever. Unluckiest sides are Hondo who would normally be too good for Ecky and Delicious who plays the only team that doesn't have to cover Danger, Sharks don't have Crouch either. Should be a beauty this week with plenty of coaching challenges. Shit. And I thought last week was bad!
