There has been plenty of signs she’d turn into the mad queen throughout the seasons

Yes but they flipped the switch way too quickly.

Would have been a lot more effective over a few episodes where they struggle to control her

They kind of did that but it was over 10 minutes instead

Every ep this season has hinted it, but i do agree they should have stretched the season out to at least 10 eps

The difference is all of those previous events were direct threats to her and/or her power

The civilians of king's landing weren't that. They arguably would have wanted her given it was her or Cersei

Anytime she’s shown mercy or leniency - or listened to her council from Tyrion - she’s been burned (pardon the pun).

I think burning the city to the ground was a good move - remove the whole threat instead of taking their word.. no way would Cersei have given up the red keep anyway.

Also let’s be serious, if the episode ended with her stopping the attack on their surrender, more would’ve been disappointed than happy - would’ve been some real lame happy clapper crap.

The point all along was to make a better world. I’ll admit I found it underwhelming. They ran out of storyline this season and relied more on battle scenes and CGI but then maybe I was never going to be happy saying goodbye for good to characters I’ve followed for 10 years.

Had some good moments this season but that was terrible, thought I was watching a late night theatre troupe.

Unfortunately the supply couldn't keep up with the demand

I could defend the other episodes, but their was so much sweeping under the rug in this ep. Jon kills dany, drogon comes and takes her. No, repercussions or explanation. Zero idea Jon was arrested. That’s a MASSIVE plot point. Nothing. Did Drogon tell the unsullied he did it, or did Jon confess. Their was no body. And the iron throne is melted and he flys off and that’s it. Then it’s almost a recreation of the ending of lord of the rings where they all get a specific ending. between Dany's death and the council of lords, I honestly thought the device I was glitching as I though it skipped a whole chunk of the ep

I could handle Bran being king if he could explain what the **** he has done this season.
