Been on the slide since 2015.

The average meat head at opposition grounds make the experience somewhere between unwelcome and violent, so I'm not surprised very few travel to away games.

No point in buying a day trip ticket for the train then, just wait and see if you need a return ticket.

I've been around long enough to have the seen the worst at every ground, what Port fans cop (through no fault of our own) at grounds around Adelaide is beyond what you'd have expected to cop, even in the glory days of the 70's and 80's,

I don't go to away games at all, was only a matter of time before I belted someone or someone belted me and I'm not entering into that for any reason. It's been pathetic at times, but given the low numbers at SANFL games the gene pool is pretty shallow and some of the specimens on offer have surprised me with their ability to walk upright.

Pretty similar to what can be found on the hill and surrounds at Adelaide Oval most weekends.

Your better than the “shallow gene pool” comment.
I would say the % of families with young kids at Glenelg games (especially at home) is through the roof.

I'm not being derogatory, I wouldn't belittle someone who doesn't have a choice, but I've found the ones who are most offensive are the ones who are choosing to swim there.

Agreed, that's reserved for someone that belongs on the entry steps to the gene pool.

Poor choice of words, perhaps. As I said above, I didn't mean it in a degrading sense.

Most of the real issues I've encountered have come from what appear to be people who you'd expect better from.

Reap what you sow for Power supporters.

As a kid at Alberton in the 80’s and 90’s most weeks I learnt a lot of new words and phrases.

The issue now with smaller crowds is you hear everything that is said but it’s nothing compared to the good old days at Alberton.

I know how much you like your crowd numbers.. but..

I saw last week Port were offering up free tickets for all kids U/15 for the game - the Mrs thought that would be a good family option to get out the house Sunday, and the kids would've loved going.. then we saw the weather forecast - that was never going to happen.

I suspect plenty would've been in the same boat.. along with families at Jnr footy around the 12pm time slot.. add in GC dont have a large supporter base, it was never going to reach lofty heights.

I know a few Power supporters who have been members since 97 who didn’t renew their tickets this season due to the cost.
It wasn’t the ticket costs more so the food and alcohol prices at AO.

Staying home with Foxtel plus your own food/grog with friends around is the cheaper and easier options for most now.

The weather and time slots don’t help but the prices at AO for the average family now is ridiculous.

It's becoming prohibitive for some, no question.

My two tickets are around $1000 per year for reserved seating, about $45 per seat per game x 2 = $90 , throw in around twice that per week on beers ( my choice ) and that's about $180 per game x 11 games = $2000+/- per year.

That's only two seats, if you have a family of 4 and Mum and Dad have a grog or two, it would be $2000+ per year. Adds up in the end.

Throw in, that in a high percentage of cases im sure most people may need to miss out one game throughout a season for one reason or another increasing the cost per match figure.
