Hosie leaves for a mid season rookie contract, and misses a genuine chance at a premiership?

Might be back in September. North Melbourne won't play finals. Don't know what rule the AFL have made up yet.

You can’t replace talent like him. The Bays are the only ones who lose here...

Speaking to an SANFL assistant coach, he said if drafted to an AFL club that doesn’t play finals, they can come back to their SANFL club if they’re in the major round.

SANFL - even more compromised than it was before!

West on reduced salary cap and now reduced playing list. Yes I know we weren’t in contention, but the thought of being even further behind before the siren sounds is a kick in the guts.

That said, rapt for Snelling and Noble, glad to see perseverance pay off.

Yup. Michael Knoll mentioned that to me on Saturday that if the AFL team that they get drafted too don't play finals they can return

 His main weaknesses was his leg speed, lack of agility and height in role.
Very straight-lined and once the ball got past him was slow to recover or
pick up his opponent. Was saved a few times by his team mates.
 He wasn’t consistently clean with his ball handling.
 He showed only average jumping ability to compensate for his height for
negating in the aerial contests but showed he could use his body
effectively.
 Looked awkward in some ground level contests with lack of flexibility
and balance.

Your thoughts yesterday @SA_Scout on Will's game against AFL listed opposition?

I think your comments on Will are valid re speed and recovery. AS you mentioned his ability to out body opponents was very good yesterday and his greatest attribute which is crucial in todays game - hit a target by foot was on display yesterday.

I will admit Port played very "bruise-free" footy yesterday but his footy brain was clear too (positioning and decision making).

Where he goes is anyone's guess this year but his footy skills and smarts make him an attractive proposition as you cant teach that where as you can develop his physical attributes.

So I take it Gould played yesterday?

Just read this “Handy paydays coming for AFL mid-season draft picks. Base salary of $50,000 plus a $20,000 exit fee if not retained in 2020. Think match payments are about $4500 on top”

Handy money

Wests reduced cap is another issue .

I don't see any of the players drafted will play this year anyway. What a joke this is.

Yep, $70k and several won’t play a single minute of AFL I’d think

With our injuries I wouldn’t be surprised if Snelling gets a go on Sunday
