Season finishes Rd 14, then it’s a month of seeding for top 4 and basically wild card for bottom 4.. then finals. Simple.

Obviously as stated we can see what theyre playing for in each division, however the top side, currently stpauls, do their current 14 points get erased? If they lose all 3 games they remain on 0 points?

Also at present if adelaide Lutheran currently on 8 points sitting 5th, if they win all 3 games they either go to 14 points or do they go to 6 points

Is it top 4 or 5 in this Div this year?

As I understand it, a top 5, but:

At the end of Round 14:

- the top four is set, but play each other during Round 15-17 to determine final position in top 4
- the bottom four is set, and play each other during Round 15-17 to determine who finishes 5th

This is based on where the A-grade side finishes. So we may have an interesting anomaly where Lutheran A-grade finishes 5th at R14 and their B-grade is top (and get to play the bottom sides in D7R).

It is ingenious IMO, div 7 clubs don't want their season to finish 4 weeks before the rest of the comp nor do they want a comp where one team plays the bottom tiered clubs more times than others.

Marbles, I'll help you out.

After round 14, lets say the ladder is as follows:

Team A - 20pts
B - 18
C - 16
D - 12
E - 12
F - 6
G - 4
H - 4

Teams A-D will then go into pool 1, and E-H into pool 2.

The teams play each other in those pools, and their points carry on. That is to say, if H wins all 3, they don't finish top of pool 2, they finish on 10, while E is already on 12, plus what they pick up in their 3 games.

Now, if E wins all 3, and D loses all three, E is on 18 and D on 12 still, however, the teams from pool 1 are guaranteed spots 1-4. pool 2 are only playing for 5th spot. Their points within their pool matter, but not against pool 1.

If that's too hard for you to work out, then consider it this way, all points carry over, however every team that qualifies for pool 1 gets a bonus 100. Therefore D finishes on 112 and E only gets to 18.

Not sure where your sheep analogy derives from, we just all happen to agree on two things here:
1: The system that they have come up with.
2: I'm sure you'll work this one out

Yes it does mate.

After Rd 14
A 20, B 18, C 16, D12, E 12, F 6, G 4, H 4

Now, split into 2 groups, with Pool 1 getting a bonus 100 points (note, no one else needs this example, but for whatever reason, you can't work it out so this is only here for you).

Pool 1: A 120, B 118, C 116, D 112
Pool 2: E 12, F 6, G 4, H 4

Now they play each other within their pool (for 2 points per win still) and it doesn't matter if D loses all 3 and E wins all 3. No team from pool 2 can finish higher than 5th.
